Review: I went to this center as part of a court ordered DWI assessment. After completion of the 3 1/2 hour long assessment, I was told that although I have no prior arrest record, no history of substance abuse, no one was injured as a result of the DWI, nor did an accident occur that I was found to be in need of 15 weeks of treatment. According to the counselor, this finding was the result of the answer to only one question on the entire assessment - as to whether I was an [redacted]. The counselor insisted that I was an abuser because a DWI constitutes [redacted]. I strongly disagreed with the counselor, however HE insisted this was the only possible answer to the question, and because I was forced to answer "yes", a determination was made that I required counseling. He also incorrectly told me that counseling was therefore mandated and tried to get me to sign up at that time stating that I didn't need to worry about payment because my health insurance would cover the charges. After conferring with my lawyer and having another assessment done, I was informed that only the judge could make that determination - that the assessment center could only recommend or not recommend treatment. Furthermore, I paid out of pocket for assessment and when I attempted to submit for reimbursement with my insurance company, discovered that the Bridge Back to Life Center submitted for and received reimbursement and did not notify me or send me the payment.Desired Settlement: The fee was $260 and they also received payment of $101.60 from my insurance provider.
