the customer’s responsibility to ensure they meet the minimum standards, or eligibility requirements to apply for whatever occupational license, certificate or ID Card they are attempting to getAt the beginning of our training we take the time review the requirements and suggest that if there are issues or concerns they speak to the instructor in privateIn this case the customer realized he was not eligible to receive the *** *** ** Card from the state because of past felony criminal conviction(s)Instead of speaking to the instructor at the next break in a private setting, he became quite vocal and shared his criminal history with the classWhen this was discovered, he was given a refund minus a $cancellation fee (posted policy), then continued to argue and was given FULL REFUND on his credit card (we have proof of receipt), and left the business as he would not have been able to apply for the *** *** ** CardI can assure you, no one from our business would laugh at this, or the customer’s behavior to our staff
The customer’s prior criminal history, whether or not he researched the state requirements to become a security officer before signing up for the class, and the State requirements to become a security officer are all outside of our controlHe asked us to provide him training, which we were very prepared to doWhen he couldn’t take the training, he was given a full refund despite the financial loss to our business as seats in this class are limited and customers were turned away because the class was fullAgain, I am sorry he had a bad experience, but we did everything we could to minimize the felt impact from the customerTo ensure no one is embarrassed, we offered a private forum for him to speak to us about his challenges, which he choose not to take, and our business absorbed the financial loss ourselves
