Complaint: [redacted] Dear ***I appreciate you forwarding David/Bridgetown Chimney's most recent responseI am rejecting this response because David's claim that he never had a chance to finish the job due to weather is patently false; because, as stated in my original complaint, the chimney sustained damage due to being unsealed all winter, and the job now needs to be redone, not simply finished; and because, as stated in my original complaint, I no longer trust David's workmanship or communicationAt this point, my solution is to take the refunded money and hire another chimney contractor to redo the jobDavid's claim that he was unable to finish the job due to weather is easily investigated via historical weather data (for instance, via [redacted] )While November 25th (the Friday following the new mortar being applied) did indeed bring heavy rains, the two weeks following that saw little to no rainI sent David a text on December 1st to see when the wash and seal would be done - he said he would "come soon to seal", and made no mention of the weather having an impact on his ability to do soPortland again saw heavy rain on December 9th, but the entire week of December 12th had little to no rainfallThe same held true for December 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, and the entire week of December 26thIn fact, when I sent David a text on December 23rd asking for the third time when he would wash and seal the chimney, he once again made no mention of weather being a hindranceIn other words, there were more than four solid weeks prior to Portland's harsh winter weather during which David could have, and should have, finished the jobFurthermore, in the intervening months between the weather warming and drying in spring and my filing the Revdex.com complaint, I heard nothing from DavidThis leads me to believe it was never his intention to finish the job.As stated in my last response, unless I receive a refund for the $paid for the tuckpoint/wash/seal, my next step will be legal actionI have the paperwork ready to file, and will proceed with doing so on August 28th, unless the refund (or proof of mailing of the refund) is received before then

I never had a chance to finish the job due to the weather we had at that time I am willing to compromise I am offering a refund of $AND I will go and finish the work I apologize that I was unable to come back and finish due to the weather

I have tried calling the consumer to get back over there but my calls have not been returned.  I'd like to get back over there and finish the job.  I will reach out to the consumer again.  Also, please have the consumer contact me at [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]Dear [redacted]I...

appreciate you forwarding the response from David at Bridgetown Chimney. I am rejecting this response because, per my complaint, I no longer have faith in David/Bridgetown's work or communication. As such, at this point in time, the only response I am willing to accept is a refund of the amount I paid for the tuck point/wash/seal so that I can hire another contractor to re-do the job. I have attached the following documentation in support of my complaint: a copy of the invoice (please note I did not sign off saying I was satisfied with the work, as it was not yet complete); the text messages David and I exchanged in regard to having the work completed (I received no further communication from David after the text message on 12/26/16, until I filed the Revdex.com complaint); recent photos of the chimney (showing the lack of wash/seal, and cracks formed in the mortar over the winter). I did receive a voicemail message from David on 6/11/17, but awaited a response via the Revdex.com to keep all communication documented. (Please note: Per the Revdex.com Tech Dept, I forwarded the documentation to you via email, as the response would not upload with attachments.)

Complaint: [redacted]Dear [redacted]I appreciate you forwarding David/Bridgetown Chimney's most recent response. I am rejecting this response because David's claim that he never had a chance to finish the job due to weather is patently false; because, as stated in my original complaint, the chimney sustained damage due to being unsealed all winter, and the job now needs to be redone, not simply finished; and because, as stated in my original complaint, I no longer trust David's workmanship or communication. At this point, my solution is to take the refunded money and hire another chimney contractor to redo the job. David's claim that he was unable to finish the job due to weather is easily investigated via historical weather data (for instance, via [redacted]). While November 25th (the Friday following the new mortar being applied) did indeed bring heavy rains, the two weeks following that saw little to no rain. I sent David a text on December 1st to see when the wash and seal would be done - he said he would "come soon to seal", and made no mention of the weather having an impact on his ability to do so. Portland again saw heavy rain on December 9th, but the entire week of December 12th had little to no rainfall. The same held true for December 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, and the entire week of December 26th. In fact, when I sent David a text on December 23rd asking for the third time when he would wash and seal the chimney, he once again made no mention of weather being a hindrance. In other words, there were more than four solid weeks prior to Portland's harsh winter weather during which David could have, and should have, finished the job. Furthermore, in the intervening months between the weather warming and drying in spring and my filing the Revdex.com complaint, I heard nothing from David. This leads me to believe it was never his intention to finish the job.As stated in my last response, unless I receive a refund for the $1300 paid for the tuckpoint/wash/seal, my next step will be legal action. I have the paperwork ready to file, and will proceed with doing so on August 28th, unless the refund (or proof of mailing of the refund) is received before then.
