I hired this company to get text books for my daughter's first year of home-schooling. Just for text books. My school board was out of books, and paying for them was my only resort. I filed, like any other homeschooling family with the school board at the end of the year with local teacher review (which I also paid for). The tactic Bridgeway used was I "could" use their record system, if I desired. I had my own that I was using to satisfy my state's requirements. My daughter attempted some testing online but many of the tests would grade improperly, upset her and then I would have to do paper form. So -- the no obligation for filing paperwork comes in. The advisor, Angela, stated to me numerous times that not all families file paperwork. Some do to help with their record-keeping, she stated, some never send a single thing to them. Months into the program, I'm slammed with court orders from my ex-husband. He emailed Angela (I have the emails if needed) and pryed her for info on my daughter's progress. Since my daughter was doing paper testing, and I was told I was not obligated to send paperwork in, their computer system only had a few scores from when my daughter attempted and the computer scored incorrectly. Angela proceeds to tell my ex through email that my daughter is failing. Angela did not contact me on these conversations. My daughter was excelling. Angela's emails were used in court against me. They were false. With the limited knowledge the general public has on homeschooling -- this was devastating to my daughter's education. Because of these emails I was ordered to return my daughter to public school where she had been bullied. Fast forward -- my daughter is in the gifted and talented program. My daughter was forced to go to court and state she was doing in school at home (yet I'm not allowed to homeschool her anymore). Because of these inaccurate emails -- I had to sacrifice my family's limited income on court fees and a lawyer. After already giving Bridgeway thousands of dollars -- for BOOKS. To add to my experience with Bridgeway -- court all summer, a child in our family passed away -- Angela has the nerve to state I have more papers I HAVE to give them or they will withdrawal my daughter and ensure her father knows. What? The state already certified her. She's been in public school for a month. Angela sent me a cut and paste response as we were grieving a death of a child. And they label themselves a Christian school? Worst company ever. Lies. Half their programs don't work. Horrible. They almost cost me my daughter over optional paperwork. Don't sign up with this company. Find someone else. Anyone else.
We have been with Bridgeway Homeschool Academy for five years. We have had an excellent experience with everyone that has played a part in the furthering of my son's education.
I would recommend Bridgeway to anyone and give them an excellent rating.
