I’ve had Ray Holmes on an annual contract for years When my AC needed replacement, I authorized Ray to do the job out of loyalty for his services I told Ray that I did not want unsightly piping running up the side of my house as I’ve seen on other jobs Ray said he would flush out the old interior pipes and use the same ones in the new system After installing the new AC in September, 2016, Ray’s crew and I noticed a pulsing sound coming from the compressor We decided to wait until warmer weather next year to resolve the pulsing issue May 3, 2017, Ray took readings and said he would contact the manufacturer for the pulsing answer and get back to me Ray did not call me back, and never responded to my calls to him Towards the end of the month he finally answered when I used a phone number unknown to him He said the piping was undersized and he would charge me for the new pipe and labor He said that I wanted the old pipe, so he used the old pipe I argued that he should have told me the old pipe was undersized I’m not the HVAC expert, he is After haggling, we agreed to split the costsHe said that he would do the job at a later date as this was his busy period A few days later, I called Ray and told him I wanted his work corrected ASAP before any other problems may arise I left that message and Ray never called back He also never sent me a renewal contract for the upcoming year After years, he dumped me, because he doesn’t want to stand by his work
