Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The issue was not addressed with the concrete approach when it should have beenNow that Brighton received their bond money back from the City they are avoiding an issue that pre- dates the situation!!! This was always discussed with Brighton and from the day I discover it was sinking, Hugh from Brighton took full responsibility and claimed the approach would be replaced!!! Sincerely, [redacted]

This message is in response to the [redacted] filed with the BBB by [redacted] with regards to the location of his Hot Tub outlet. [redacted] is requesting that we pay the his estimated cost of approximately $1600 to relocate a hot tub connection on his home. The concern of... the Tub Power location is a result of [redacted] ***'s desire to install a hot tub within 18” of a wall that holds the power connection. This is desired by [redacted] in order to gain approximately 32”x72" of yard space. The Electrical Code stipulates that the water surface of a hot tub may not be closer than 60” to the power connection. It is [redacted] ***’s assertion that during the design process he received a statement from our licensed electrical contractor that he would be able to install a hot tub within 18” of the power connection. This code is well known by all licensed electricians, casting significant doubt on that claim. The precise location for the hot tub connection was established by [redacted] during the design phase and as indicated on the construction drawings that were signed by [redacted] ***. A copy of the signed construction drawings is included, dated 9/14/11. Page A4.1 shows the intended and current location of the Hot Tub power connection. The wife of [redacted] was told by our warranty manager, [redacted] Andersen, that he would be interested to know the quote from the [redacted] electrician for the electrical portion of the work to be completed. [redacted] left open the possibility that he might be able to get the work completed for less and assist them in getting that work coordinated. No offer was made by [redacted] for Brighton Homes to cover the entire cost of the relocation. As an additional note, the [redacted] home is not under warranty. ***’s visit to the [redacted] residence was a courtesy extended as an act of customer service. As a proposed resolution to the issues, I told [redacted] that if he were able to provide documentation of the electrician’s alleged erroneous communication regarding the allowed proximity of a hot tub to the water surface, I would reimburse him for the initial cost of the hot tub power connection, which is $475.00. [redacted] has not provided this or any other additional information and has instead sought your involvement. Please let me know if I can be of any additional assistance.Best wishes,Lars Hansen - President

Brighton Homes has reviewed the history and would like to
respond to the issues that Mr*** has stated in has Revdex.com complaint
#***.Fortunately, the original requests were documented by
Brighton Homes and it’s warranty department and show that work orders had been
issued to trades for
correction and completion.
However, Brighton was unaware that the issues were not completed to a
satisfactory level or repair(s) had failed.
Brighton has attempted to correct the issues for the homeowner and will
provide corrective actions in this response. So far we have addressed:Loose Hose Bib: A
sanded polyurethane product has been injected into the void behind the hose bib
and larger screws have been inserted for additional strength. We’re confident in this repair but would
invite the ***'s to notify us of any
issues this summerRain Gutter: The
rain gutters have received another coat of sealant (spray application) in an
attempt to repair leak at seams.
Additionally we would like to mention that rain gutters around the whole
home will require some homeowner maintenance each year to correct any
separation or expansion of the seams that winter snow or ice buildup will
causeConcrete Splatter / Paint Mismatch Issue: We do show that it took longer than expected
to clean up concrete splatter from repairs on the patio and apologize for that
but it has been addressed. As for the
paint mismatch, Brighton did not provide the wrong paint colorIt sounds as if
the homeowner tried get a match for the James Hardie (Arctic White) paint
product through a “big box store” that
didn’t match, so we have delivered the correct James Hardie brand paint in the
color Arctic White for trim around his home.
That being said, we cannot guarantee a perfect match., even with the
correct James Hardie brand paint product there will almost always be a mismatch
due to external elements beyond our control.Items of concern that will not be addressedSunken Drive Approach: Drive approaches, curb and gutter,
and sidewalks are not part of the home warranty (as outlined in the Exterior
Concrete Section of our Homeowner Manual)Drive approaches, sidewalks, and
curb and gutter are City Improvements and the Developer provides a warranty to
the City(not the homeowner)The warranty with the City has expired and the City has accepted the improvements.Sincerely,Patrick S***
