This is in response to a letter concerning a complaint about my business, Bright's HVAC. Incident number for this dispute is [redacted]. On June 05, 2016 I responded to a service call from Ms. [redacted] ([redacted]?) via a mutual friends phone. Ms. [redacted] stated that her HVAC...
systems were not cooling. I advised her of our business $65 service call charge. I arrived between 9am and 10 am on June 07, 2016. Upon servicing her equipment I found that both systems were low on R22 Freon. I advised her of two ways to solve the issue; first was to add leak sealant and proper charge of Freon, second was just adding the Freon to proper charge. I advised her that Freon was $65 per pound. She stated that she had called her previous HVAC company and that they charged $45 per pound. I stated that was my business price, and she could make the choice to have the other company come out instead. She replied with "No, you're already here". I added the Freon to proper charge, upstairs system using eight pounds, the main level system using nine pounds. Total price for the Freon was $1105.00, plus a $65 service call. She chose to pay with a credit card, I informed her there was a .375 % charge for credit card usage. She had no problem with that. Ms.[redacted] called me back later that afternoon June 07. 2016 at 3:37 pm and stated the upstairs system was not cooling. I told her that it would it take time to cool the upstairs and any further issues she could call back. She called at 5:45 pm the same day and said it had still not cooled down. I told Ms. [redacted] that I would return the following morning. On June 08,2016 I returned to Ms.[redacted]s home to find that the coils on the out side unit were dirty causing the system to shut off on a high head pressure. I cleaned the coils and checked pressures. There was no charge for this return or to clean the coils and the system was working properly when I departed. She stated she was happy and pleased with my work. Ms.[redacted] called June 20, 2016 at 3:59 pm to tell me about a water leak she had, not related to the previous service provided. She stated she had appointments and that she would contact me after those appointments. I have not heard back from her since the 20th. I have pulled my phone records detailing times and dates to when she has called. In my honest opinion, I believe she is upset about the price of Freon. I have compared my prices to three major triad companies frequently to stay competitive. I would like to know what part of this job has not been completed. Thank you for your time, I look forward to closing this issue. Sincerely,Stephen B[redacted]Owner, Bright's HVAC
