As an insurance agency committed to ensuring that all of our customers enjoy total protection, Brightway Insurance takes its responsibility of securing coverage for our customers extremely seriously. We have read and investigated Ms. [redacted]’s complaint (Complaint ID [redacted]), and we apologize to...

Ms. [redacted] for any confusion or frustration this situation caused. Our records, however, do confirm that Brightway resolved the issue in way that ensured Ms. [redacted] was never without coverage except for the period of time after which her policy was canceled by her insurance carrier and she sought no additional coverage from her Brightway agent. Ms. [redacted]’s original policy was canceled by the insurance company in November 2016; the insurance company sent her a non-renewal notice on Nov. 7, 2016. Each insurance company is regulated by each state’s Department of Insurance. Sending non-renewal notices well in advance of a policy’s expiration date is a regulatory requirement in the state of Florida. We have the notice that was sent to Ms. [redacted] well in advance of her policy expiration date. We have no record of Ms. [redacted] contacting us after that point inquiring about replacement coverage until June 14, 2017, when Ms. [redacted] bought a new Homeowners insurance policy from one of our agents. She paid the policy promptly and we submitted payment promptly. However, there was a mistake made by the insurance company and, as a result, the payment was not posted promptly. As a result, Ms. [redacted] received a cancelation notice from that company; when we received this we contacted the insurance company and corrected their mistake. The company rescinded the cancellation and Ms. [redacted] was never without coverage under that policy. The error that the insurance company made in posting the payment is unfortunate, however mistakes happen and it was swiftly handled with no negative effect on Ms. [redacted] who continues to have coverage under that same policy. While unfortunate, we believe we did everything we could to ensure that the mistake made by the insurance company was corrected as quickly as possible and respectfully request that this complaint not negatively affect our standing in the eyes of the Revdex.com.
