We would be happy to schedule another service appointment to determine further whether any "noise" is present and whether the vehicle is operating as designedAdditionally we have extended the terms of the used vehicle warranty per our previous response should the alleged issue develop into a problem that warrants repair

Customer purchased a Mazda with less than miles on the odometer They inquired about the vehicle after seeing it online They asked us to bring the vehicle to their place of employment so they could decide if they wanted to purchase it After seeing and driving the vehicle
they agreed to purchase it After they purchased the vehicle and taking delivery they later claimed that the vehicle did not have all the factory options/packages that they thought it had In followup conversations with the customer it was explained that nothing was intentionally claimed to be part of the vehicle that was not, in fact, included The customer suggested that an amicable solution would be to have a remote starter installed to remedy any misunderstanding This is something that we agreed to We made arrangements for a qualified, experienced vendor that is used by hundreds of dealerships throughout New England to go the customer's home or office to complete the installation at our expense The customer now alleges that the remote starter is inferior, which it is not, and is attempting to renegotiate a settlement which they agreed to.Bristol Toyota has acted in good faith, responded to the customer's initial concerns, agreed to a remedy (installation of a remote starter) that the customer suggested, and is no longer able to provide additional compensation for unsubstantiated claims arising out of the purchase of the vehicle

We have contacted the customer to resend the Repair Order from the other dealership.Which we have now received and will issue a check for $to the customer. *** ***

I'm a bit taken aback by the implication that the dealership states they never claimed the vehicle had the options we were expecting and they we, somehow, incorrectly assumed it would have themPerhaps the dealership isn't aware of the fact that we had the foresight to take of copy of their own advertisement once we discovered the items that were missingI've submitted a copy of that ad now to the Revdex.com for their own referenceWorse, discussion with the sales manager made it very clear that they were already well aware of the fact that the car had been advertised with options it didn't have, and they were just hoping we didn't notice I'm offended that Bristol Toyota is basically suggesting that we are the ones trying to pull a fast one and not, in fact, the dealership that knowingly sold a car advertised falsely

As I indicated previously, the customer suggested the remedy of installing a remote starter at no charge as a resolution to the concerns raised post sale regarding equipment or options that may have been erroneously listed on the dealership's website The dealership agreed to the proposed remedy and facilitated having a remote starter installed by a reputable vendor that services hundreds of new car dealerships throughout New England. The dealership stocks and advertises more than a hundred pre-owned vehicles at all times, and every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of all information that is posted online or in advertising When an error is made and discovered, the dealership takes corrective action to edit any incorrect information. If the customer had wanted a different resolution other than the free remote starter, we would have considered it at the time, including a full refund of the purchase price

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention.  I understand that you did ask us to diagnose a "noise" in your vehicle several days after taking delivery.  Our Service Department personnel inspected and test drove your vehicle and determined that any noises seemed very...

insignificant, not safety related, and consistent with a vehicle over 100,000 miles. Our General Sales Manager, [redacted], spoke with you and assured you that we would make a record of your concern and if the condition worsened within a reasonable period of time that the dealership would take appropriate action at that time.  Massachusetts law provides a 30 day, 1,250 mile warranty for a vehicle purchase such as yours.  As a gesture of good faith and fair dealing, we will extend the warranty expiration for your vehicle to 60 days or 2,500 miles from date of purchase for any repairs that would be related to your documented concern.[redacted]General ManagerBristol Toyota

As I also stated earlier, I suggested a remote starter as equivalent compensation under the, obviously very mistaken, notion that I would be getting something equivalent to the OEM unit. When we learned the very next day that that would not be the case, we requested compensation for the same dollar amount as what Bristol Toyota claimed was the "value" of their remote starter prior to any work being performed and prior to the installation even being scheduled. Bristol Toyota refused to do anything else for compensation, just as they are doing now. Their claim that they would have "taken the care back and issued a full refund" even though they refused a $500 refund, is completely absurd. I'm very sorry that Bristol Toyota is so busy listing hundreds of cars that they can not be bothered to confirm their information is correct. As mentioned earlier, since the sales manager was well aware that the options were missing, Bristol Toyota's claim that they do everything to fix the ads as soon as possible is also false.Since Bristol Toyota is not offering anything is response to this complaint, I reject their "resolution" and will have to be content knowing that this permanent black eye cost them much more than it would have cost them to not rip off a customer in the first place. Perhaps they will learn from their mistake in the future but I doubt it.

Thank you for your response I appreciate you getting back to me. I understand that it's a used vehicle so it'll have its normal wear and tear but I feel like a vehicle shouldn't have that type of noise, it can get loud at times.

response does satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #[redacted]. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved. Business didn't go much into my situation and was just gathering any source documents which seems like they would to keep a paper trail for their finances.
