Review: Called number advertised on TV. Say they are part of the National HAMP program. Called [redacted] the Compliance officer @ 949-298-3261 or 877-366-0988 Ext. [redacted]. Said they would be able to help me get a modification on my existing loan even though my ex-husband's name is on the existing loan with US Bank. My ex-husband had to sign a quit claim deed as a part of our divorce settlement but I did not qualify for a loan assumption with US Bank at the time of my divorce because of a significant drop in my income due to 1) disability due to Multiple Sclerosis (a chronic disease for which there is no cure 2) Divorce after 25 years or marriage 3) Medical Expenses that are unpredictable and at times astronomical. Therefore US Bank will not remove [redacted]'s name from the loan even though his name has been removed from the deed. Brite consultants said they "could work around that". Emailed me forms and requested documentation. Sent them what was requested. [redacted] called me 07/18/2014 asked me to wire 1st of 4 installments of $500 and not to make any mortgage payments. I did so and called him back with reference number. US Bank said I could deal with them directly besides they could not release any loan info. to a 3rd party w/o my ex-hus. signature. He was removed from the home on a domestic violence order. Brite Consultants knew all of this.I complained and requested a refund of my $500 plus the $31 they said would deduct from next installment. After many attempts to talk to s/one @ Brite Consultants requesting my refund they have blocked my calls. I have cognitive impairment due to the MS and I have been bamboozled before but I need my $500 back plus the $31 and I cannot afford to make my mortgage payment of 1005.62 plus pay 3 more monthly installments of $500 to Brite Consultants. I truly believe this is a scam and I am praying they will not damage my credit by holding me responsible for the remaining installments. Please help. Don't let this happen to anyone else.Desired Settlement: I would like my $531 refunded plus be released from the remaining 3 installments of $500 w/o any damage to my credit which is superior. Change their business practices or close. They lie, won't return your calls need to be investigated thoroughly. forms are generic. just say Law Office. US Bank said they wouldn't release anyone's loan info after receiving such a generic form. Brite Consultants assured me they could work around my situation. They lied, took my money & blocked my phone calls.
