*** *** called late in the afternoon around 4:00 asking to bring her car by because it had failed both state inspection and emissions. We gave her the address and she said she would put it in the gps to see how long it would take to get here. Our business hours are 9:00am-5:00pm. She was going to be here around 5:00 she said. She did not show up until probably 6:30.
The work that she wanted done was communicated when she dropped it off. As stated earlier it had failed both state inspection and emissions. She asked us to do whatever was needed to get it to pass both of those. The reasons why it had failed were on the print outs from where she had first taken it
Before leaving she also mentioned that we should do other little things to the car, but when asked specifically what, her response was “you know the little things.” That conversation went on for at least ten minutes with her not being able to form an interpretable sentence. Being after7:00 we said we would get the car to pass and let her know when it was done. We took down her information and she left, or so we thought
She comes back inside and explains how her ride was on the back of a motorcycle. The temperature is around degrees. She did not have a jacket and asked if we could lend her one. Being understanding because most of us routinely forget to bring jackets or other warm clothes when we know in advance that we are going to be riding on the back of a motorcycle in below freezing temperatures for up to an hour, we gave her one. She said she would bring it back to us when she picked the car up
Per the complaint, “no one answered the work line nor was there even a Voicemail to leave a message.”
*** *** called and left a message at around 3:00am asking for a call back. We called back the next day and explained that the reason for the car not passing emissions was because of a check engine light that was on due to a faulty transmission selector switch. This part new costs $629.00. We explained that to her and offered her a used one for $350.00. She then asked about us doing some other things to the car and said she would email us a list of what she wanted. She said that she did not need the car back anytime soon. We had her pay for the work that had been done over the phone.
This 3:00am phone call and message as well as the next day phone conversation never took place in her mind. Drugs will do that to you they say
She comes by one evening after business hours to ask about her car. We explained what had been done and that we would take it to get inspected and emissions if she wanted, which we later did and it passed both. She then asked us to possibly do some other things to the car and said she would email us a list of what she wanted (just like the conversation on the phone which she clearly forgot about). She did not ask for an invoice showing the work done while she was here
She finally emailed the list of additional work that she wanted a quote on. She also asked for us to email her the invoice, which we did the same day. We looked over the list of additional work and had quite a few questions for her. We sent an email asking for her phone number because the number that she had originally given us was not the right one. Possibly due to short term memory loss
There was never a time when we said only to contact us via email. We just did not have a good phone number to reach her at and we are not here at 3:00am to answer phone calls from lunatics on all night drug binges. We are at home sleeping like most humans.
She called again at some unearthly hour and left a message saying that her sister needed the car in two days and that she would be by between 11:00am and 12:00pm. We called her back and asked a few questions about what exactly she wanted done based on the email so we could do an estimate and give it to her when she picked the car up. She once again could not make a coherent sentence.
She did come by to get the car later than she said she would while most people were at lunch. She was able to go over the car with who was here based on the invoice that we had emailed to her, which she brought with her. She then proceeded to ramble on about unicorns and demons before she leftThis complaint that she has written was sent before she even picked the car up. Too bad the time that this was submitted is not listed, but based on the grammar and inconsistent accusations we assume the drug content in her body was strongly present. The price inconsistencies are also indicative of elementary intelligence and/or an excessively drug altered mind.
The mechanics that were here when she picked up her car have a favorite quote of hers. “*** *** *** ***.” We are still trying to decipher the meaning of this
As far as her desired settlement is concerned, we did what was needed to get the car to pass state inspection and emissions just like she asked. The car had tags that had been dead since sometime in as well. The bill that we sent her after this complaint was written, but before the car was picked up, is accurate and we were even able to save her money. The total cost was $1,673.95. Of that $was the price for parts. There was hours spent to fix the car. She also picked up the car during our lunch break with an outstanding balance. She has not paid for the state inspection $and emissions $ Our offer is as follows

Review: I took my car to British Car Doctors in [redacted]. There were no cars of customers in the bay being worked on. There were five guys hanging out at a table the three times I have been over there. They never seem to be working. Maybe having prolonged smoke breaks. A lot of old used cars on their last legs. The business isn't about repairing for customers I've found. I left the car with them and wrote down what was wrong and the list the Sunuco gave me to get it to pass emissions and inspection. The young men never called me for three weeks to discuss the bill and work. I called every day on the third week. No one answered the work line nor was there even a Voicemail to leave a message. Someone must have seen my number on the caller ID and did call me 8 days later after the third week when I became distressed and started calling 3x a day. THEY TOLD ME THE WORK WAS DONE. I HAD NEVER GOTTEN AN ESTIMATE OR A MECHANIC TO DISCUSS THE WORK NOT ONCE. THEY WANTED THE MONEY OVER THE PHONE THAT INSTANT WITHOUT ME EVER SEEING OR CHECKING MY VEHICLE I asked for the other sunroof window to be fixed that wasn't part of inspection. The guy told me to pay him $16.000 plus right now on the phone. I as a woman agreed. Asked what he repaired. Oh we cleaned some leaves out. Put in a window and a part. I felt ripped off. I asked for the other work to be done and to call me w an estimate the next day on time. The next day nothing. So I went out there myself and they said the car still wouldn't pass emmissions. Although I already paid for the work that "WAS COMPLETED." They looked so guilty like I walked in on a drug deal or something. I felt intimidated. They told me to only contact them via email. I have done so. There is no answer. ARE THEY DOING 1 hour and another $1600 SLAP JOB WORK ON MY VEHICLE AND NOT CALLING ME SO AGAIN I AM STUCK PAYING FOR WORK I EMAILED FOR A QUOTE. They know I am easily ripped off. They will not discuss on phone, nor reply to emails, or show the work before paym.Desired Settlement: I'd like $850 back. I'd like to even get a chance to look at the bill of $1600 for very little work. $400 in parts from what little they said to me. I can't see the amount of work could equal 1200 in labor costs. They cleaned some leaves out of the blower they said. They replaced one bulb, one window, and one small part. I can't see that taking 10 to 12 hours of labor. I would like a man to go over with me and help me get my car back even though it's not fixed and all the money back trul
