contacted by the [redacted] early 2011 with the inquiry of restoring a vehicle that they had purchased on line. The vehicle was a 1952 Jaguar XK 120 Coupe.British Motor Company travelled to Seattle to meet with the [redacted] and subsequently transported the vehicle back to the shop in Eugene for them. The vehicle consisted of a frame and a multitude of boxes that were supposedly containing all of the parts to restore the vehicle to original status. According to the [redacted] considerable repair and restoration had been done on various parts by the seller. The doors mentioned in the complaint were not attached to the vehicle.In working on restoring the car it was determined that the doors were too rusted out and damaged to be used. In agreement with the [redacted] the aluminum doors were sent to a company in Southern California where they were used as templates to have handmade doors to fit the Jaguar. The original doors were scrapped by that company as they were of no value.All of the issues confronted with incorrectly repaired items completed by seller, along with rusty, damaged and missing parts to the vehicle were discussed with the [redacted]. We have telephone records reflecting constant telephone calls to discuss with them matters pertaining to the restoration. To say that the [redacted] responded in a timely manner to any of the issues raised would be a definite misstatement.Three years ago we were contacted by an attorney of the [redacted] threatening us with a lawsuit. We contacted our attorney and provided him with evidence of work performed, invoices sent, costs and issues met. The attorneys met and it was determined at that time that the case had no merit and it was not pursued.I am a British factory trained mechanic specializing in Jaguar, Range Rover, Rolls Royce and MG vehicles. I have been doing this work for over 50 years. I have had customers who have sent vehicles from as far away as South America, New York and many other states based on my experience and attention to detail. References could be provided.I understand that [redacted] and her husband are elderly and unwell however this issue was addressed several years ago and I find it strange that it has been raised again. If you would like the name of the legal firm that handled our concerns please let me know and I will forward that information to you.As the sole owner of British Motor Company I retired January 2017.
