We reviewed Mr. [redacted]' file and could find no evidence that this money order was ever posted in our banking system. I personally looked at every single deposit for two month's as did the director of human resources. We had a photo copy of the money in the file, but no actual money order. We suspect...

that we did give the money order back to Mr. [redacted] or Ms. Brewster and neither of them are claiming to have received it. They do not seem to speak to each other as Ms. Brewster called again today to ask about it and we told her that Mr. [redacted]' was supposed to do a skip trace and she had not heard any of that. We asked them to skip/trace the money order to allow us to know where it went, when it was cashed, and who cashed it. At this time, they have not done so to the best of our knowledge. This is a very busy office and it is easy to return a deposit money to someone and not take the time to note it in the file. Further, if an applicant does not get an apartment due to legitimate reasons (i.e. they have not committed fraud against us) we return the entire money order. We do not keep any portion of it unless there is an application fee  paid on the same money order. We would be happy to refund once they can prove we cashed it.  Warm Regards,[redacted]
