Review: I was charged with a $20 penalty fee because I supposedly did not pay on time. I had recently changed my card. However, I handed them my card on May 17th of 2014 which was still within the grace period. This afternoon (May 27, 2014), I recieved a invoice notifying me that I must pay that penalty fee. I came in to speak to one of the employees [redacted]) and told her of my problem. She even showed me a photocopy of my card with a date of May 17,2014 proving that I did hand it in. She then spoke to the owner [redacted]) and he proceeded to tell her that I must still pay without any explanation and telling her that it doesn't matter.Desired Settlement: I do not want to be charged that $20 penalty fee since it was not my fault that they did not charge my card.

Review: I signed up for this gym a few years ago and went until February of 2013 when I switched gyms and had to send a letter to [redacted] to cancel my membership. I followed their procedure and thought it was finished. Unfortunately I did not realize they continued to charge me for over a year even though I had sent the cancellation letter and had not attended the gym nor had any form of long term contract with them. I did not know they were billing me since the amount was only roughly 15 dollars until I had to change bank accounts for work and received letters from [redacted] saying I owed them money for the gym for non payment. I went to the gym explained what happened and asked for a new cancellation letter they told me I had to resolve the debt before I could cancel or would continue to be billed, I asked to see my membership agreement which they refused. I spoke to [redacted] and they told me they could not handle anything on their end. I am filing this complaint because they are continuing to bill me for services, when I do not have a long term contract and they are refusing to allow me to cancel my membership.Desired Settlement: I want my membership cancelled and the "debt" removed as I have not step foot in their gym for over a year, followed their cancellation policies, and asked to cancel two months ago, but they refused to allow me to.
