I'm going to keep the topic on your warn out clutchWhatever is going on with Volkswagen and there alleged emissions
issue has nothing to do with you or your vehicleWith that said you stated you were an experienced clutch driverThat may be trueWhat you failed to mention was that your partner also drives the vehicleWhen he dropped it off for inspection he expressed concern asking "could this happen if a first time stick shift driver drove the car"*** answered YES
I'm saving the clutch for you and anybody else that want to inspect
The office cause for the clutch failure: overheating to the point of disintegration
As far as the diagnosisThe transmission has to come out to inspect the clutch and all related componentsThe clutch, the brakes and tires are wear and tear items and are not covered under Volkswagen warrantyWhat you are paying for is the removal and reinstallation of your transmissionYou can call it diagnoses but it is the labor to remove and install the new clutch and related parts
We have to let the customer know up front that it could go one of two waysIf it is a bearing gone bad it will be warranty and no charge to the customer "if the car is under warranty"If it is a clutch then it would be customer payWe explained the process to you before we got into the job*** also mentioned you made a comment about knowing somebody in the press and where threating some kind of actionWe are an honest family owned dealerWe follow all state rules and regulations
Sir, I think if you were really thinking we took advantage of you I would suggest calling The Bureau of Automotive repairThey will send somebody out and go over the entire process with youThey will look at all the notes, paperwork & authorizations
As far as a refund on the installation of your clutchI unable to give that to you at this time
