Review: To whom it may concern,Ill start from the beginning, when I was eight my mother died in a car accident. I received death benefits that was put into investments and when I turned 18 yrs. old all the money was released to me. Upon receiving the money I had never balanced a check book, never managed/planned a budget, and grew up poor, so that money was a huge blessing and burden. Blessing b/c it provided me the means to go to college if I chose or buy a house. Burden b/c I didnt know anything about how to manage money and when you grow up with little its overwhelming to suddenly be rich. My grandpa was a carpenter, jack of all trades really, and he encouraged me to buy a fixer upper house that we could fix up together. We did that and it was a great experience. When I was twenty I met my husband of 15 years and got pregnant. We then decided to sell the house and purchase something in the country and newer. I put the house on the market and within days we had an offer that was perfect, and we closed on the house without a new home to move into. At the time, [redacted] was working out of town; I was working in a daycare, which I loved because I could bring my eight month old son to work with me. Since [redacted] was not there during the week I decided until we found another home, my son and I moved in with my best friend in the apartments in Clover. While packing up the old house a lot of my important tax records and papers were filed away into a storage building that we rented. At this point in our lives a lot of the inheritance money that I had was put back in a separate account and we were financially in a wonderful place. Fast forward to March of 2015, I am going through old files, tax records, and important papers. While looking through them and trying to determine whether I need to keep them or throw them away a check payable to [redacted] and [redacted] fell out of my tax documents from 2000. This check has a stub, never been endorsed, no markings, and I have the HUD. The maker of the check is Brock and Scott and the check was from my closing proceeds on my home that my grandpa and I remodeled the house I bought with my inheritance. [redacted] and I talked about it and the next day he took the check to Brock and Scott law firm in Charlotte, NC and spoke to a Matt Chaney. Matt stated that he recognized the check and signature. He stated that yes that was a valid check and that he didnt see any reason that we should have the check in hand if it was distributed any other way. He stated that he would research the information and get back with us. For over two months we worked with Matt. He contacted SunTrust (bank on check is now SunTrust), made sure the funds were not in escheat, and tried to find information on the funds. Matt then later came back and said that due to the long time period they had no records/files on our closing, SunTrust was unable to provide proof that the funds were wired to us and stop payment placed on that check, was not in escheat. Matt said that the only thing they show in their ledger was that the funds were wired. I have asked multiple times to show me proof that the money was paid out to us, that the check in my hand was voided and I received payment that is owed to us and he has yet to provide proof. I have referred to a lawyer, however it can take years. Im not asking for anything that isnt mine. All I ask for is proof that the money owed to me was paid or reissue me another check. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for them to provide proof of payment or reissue a check for the amount owed. I to hold them accountable.

Review: Case # [redacted] - I paid this account off in May20 15. It is now July 2016. I have not received a close out letter stating that I paid this account in full. I did not do a settlement. Every time I call to get information they keep telling me they are working on the letter. I have emailed and made several calls and no one in this office will assist. When I had to make payment everyone helped now that it's paid off no one is helping. I was corresponding with a Doug B[redacted] but now that it's paid off he doesn't respond to my emails.Desired Settlement: I would like to received a close out letter stating my account is paid off in full; and the judgement letter showing case closed. This account was in the hands of another attorney office, before being transferred to Brock and Scott. So the payments I made to the other firm ([redacted]), along with the payments to Brock & Scott equaled my account being paid in full, no settlement.
