On January 16, 2013, I purchased a 2005 Dodge Magnum. The total price for the car is $10,677.30 including tax, license and an extended 3 year warranty. I put $5000.00 down by check.
when we were looking at the vehicle, my son noticed a ticking noise when the car was idling. I asked the salesman about it and he replied that it was normal, because the car had been sitting a week, which he then changed to 2 weeks. This noise was not noticeable when we test drove it.
when I took possession of the car and I drove the car during the weekend, the car would shake if I hit a bump. We then noticed that the sunroof wouldn't close all the way, which wasn't noticeable during the test drive. We noticed it while driving because we felt air coming through. Then they told me that the sunroof isn't covered under the warranty, but they will look at it for $118.00 and if they found the problem, it would cost extra to fix it.
If you drive the car up hill, it stalls. As long as you are driving straight away, it's fine. Some days were more noticeable than others.
I called the dealer on Saturday the 19th for the shaking and sunroof, they told me to bring the car in on Monday at 3:00pm.
I had to once again call the dealer. I called Monday morning about 11:00am, because the car was stalling so bad while my son was trying to drive the car to work at 5:30 that morning.
When I took the car in on Monday, they basically just took the information down as to what the car was doing. They told me they could fix the car on Thursday or if you leave the car, we will try to fix it before then.
At this point, the only thing they are fixing is the the shaking in the steering, which they believe to be the stabilizer. They told me nothing else is wrong with the car.
I feel like they took advantage of me, because I am a woman. My son is only 24 years old, he and I thought we were dealing with a dependable dealership.
