We always try to save our customers money by repairing garage door, instead of just trying to sell them a new doorHowever, after repairs made were not effective, recommendation for a new door was madeCustomer quoted a discount price

Door was working fine when I leftIt was a difficult job yes but customer was happy when I left I got paid everything was fineFor whatever reason the customer went out to the garage and started messing with things and couldn't figure out how to get things back togetherThe reason I know this it's because while I was trying to walk him through things over the phone he sent me a picture and the Rope on the handle was missing which I specifically put on while I was thereCustomer supplied the machines so there is no warranty on those and he also voided any labor warranty by messing with it himselfI will absolutely not go back out there

Discount clarification: We can replace panels only since we've already done all the hardwareNo refund will be given

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have
determined that this does not resolve my complaint I am not necessarily requiring a new door; however, I am requesting the damage be corrected. Of course, a new door may be the only way to cost effectively fix the damage The damage caused by the contractor's efforts are more substantial than the fee paid for his repairI have attached images of the damage including the original image sent to the contractor. Note the rust colored dust that scattered out of the bottom of the door from the impact on the original image sent to the contractor of the left corner of the garage door. This picture was taken shortly after the contractor left. The door remained open after his "repair" and I was only able to observe the interior of the garage door while in his presence The second picture is a crack in the internal drywall from the impact with the drywall being loose on both sides of the garage door frame. This is evidence of the substantial force of the impact from the dropping of the double door without the aid of the tension spring The third picture is a wide angle shot taken later as the lighting late in the day shows the damage a bit better. Note the compression/crumple damage on the lefthand side. There is additional damage on the right side with the weather stripping completely smashed on both sides. This is my first experience with a contractor of this sort. Regards,
*** ***

Revdex.com:The company has made no effort to resolve the matter. Only denialMy garage door creaks and moans now when operating and is getting worse due to the components being bent from the impact caused during the contractor's "repair". The door has obvious impact damage from being dropped and the contractor denies the damage. This complaint is not resolved.

I did not slam the door down from 7ft up in the airHe inspected the door before he paid meHe is trying to get a new door for freeI did not damage his door

Cracks in the drywall could be from house settling.

The business reiterated their original response that they did not cause any damage to the door.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
I have re-attached the original photo shared with the contractor as it did not appear to load correctly in my first response.  The contractor does not appear to be making any movement regarding resolution of my complaint and has offered nothing to potentially resolve this matter.   The damage is obvious and the resulting damage far exceeds his paid fee.  The drywall damage is not from settling as it was not present prior to the repairs.

Door was working fine when I left. It was a difficult job yes but customer was happy when I left I got paid everything was fine. For whatever reason the customer went out to the garage and started messing with things and couldn't figure out how to get things back together. The reason I know this...

it's because while I was trying to walk him through things over the phone he sent me a picture and the Rope on the handle was missing which I specifically put on while I was there. Customer supplied the machines so there is no warranty on those and he also voided any labor warranty by messing with it himself. I will absolutely not go back out there.
