Multiple contacts to Broken Tail Rescue with no response.I recently adopted a dog from Broken Tail Rescue (BTR). Unfortunately, due to some behavioral issues, I need to surrender the dog. The contract that I signed with BTR states that if I need to get rid of the dog, that I must do so through BTR. I have called and emailed multiple times since August 21st with absolutely no response from BTR. As you can imagine, this is a very stressful situation and I am extremely dissapointed with the lack of response that I have received from this organization.Desired SettlementI am looking for a response from Broken Tail Rescue. Ideally, I would like for them to receive the surrender of the dog. I am willing to pay the surrender fees as required.Consumer's Final Response I have been contacted by the Foster mother at Broken Tail Rescue. This complaint can now be closed. Thank you!

I adopted one of their dogs who attacked my daughters dog.I want reimbursement for vet bills, but they won't return my callsI adopted one of their dogs who I was told loves other dogs. In the first week of me owning the dog she attacked my daughters dog two times causing major damage the second time I returned the dog to the shelter and when I tried to call them back to find out about the vet bills they will not return my calls.I am on disability, and this was a major expense. Now, I don't have a dog, I'm out [redacted] and my relationship with my daughter is strained. And they go on their merry way. I don't want this to happen to someone else.Desired SettlementI would like reimbursement of [redacted] for the vet billsBusiness Response When someone adopts a dog from Broken Tail Rescue, they sign an adoption contract which states in paragraph one:"Adopter agrees to be wholly responsible for expenses and liabilities arising in relation to the Dog, howsoever derived, upon completion of adoption."This contract was signed by the adopter/complaintant at the time of adoption. The rescue does not reimburse for expenses occured when the dog is owned by the adopter. The foster parent of the adopted dog explained to the adopter repeatedly that the adopted dog may have issues with larger dogs and that careful introductions would need to be undertaken. It is truly unfortunate for all involved that the dogs got into an altercation but it is not the responsibility of the rescue to cover expenses caused by a dog that we did not own at the time the expenses were incurred.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I didn't get a copy of the paper I signed. I assumed it would be mailed to me, but it wasn't. The foster parent did not say that the dog may have issues with bigger dogs. They also told me the dog was two years old, when, in fact she was ten months. They lied multiple times, and now just get to walk away from it? In good faith, they should give reimbursement.

Refund of money owed me. I agreed to the adoption of a dog named Rags from Broken Tail Rescue shelter on the [redacted] of [redacted] of this year.(XXXX). I was quaranteed a refund of the cost which was [redacted] if I changed my mind within 30 days. I returned the dog on the ** of [redacted] I have not received a refund after getting in contact with them numerous times by e-mail and phone. The foster parent who I got the dog from was [redacted] of [redacted], [redacted] Her #XXX XXX-XXXX.Desired SettlementI would like the Revdex.com to contact them to find out why I haven't received my refund. Business Response We are sorry for the delay in sending the refund check. It has gone in the mail on [redacted]Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)They said they have sent my refund on [redacted] hopefully that is the case.Thank you,[redacted]

Was told they would cover medical expenses incurred as a result of complications from they had performed before the adoption process. They set up surgery for the dog on October 7,2013. Date of adoption was October 8, 2013, I took possession of the dog after surgery because foster mom was going on vacation. The day after surgery and two days afterward, I had to take him to my own vet because something was wrong with the eye surgery that was performed. On my second visit, I had to take the dog as an emergency to Tufts. We ended up having his eye removed as a result of the botched surgery. My expenses were $1,660. For all care for the eye. I was told they would reimburse Desired SettlementSince they have not cashed my check for the adoption fee of $350, I would like that check sent back to me and additional amount of $1300. To cover the medical expenses incurred by me as a result of the botched surgery they set up to perform. The dog should have been in their care during recovery therefore they are responsible for his medical expenses.
