Bronto.com sends unsolicited mass emails and doesn't respond to abuse reportsI first received an unsolicited advertisement from [redacted] through bronto.com's marketing platform on Thur 4/30/2015. Since I had never done business with either [redacted] or bronto.com, I looked up their domain registration and tried to contact bronto.com's abuse contact. I emailed [redacted], which is listed as the contact for abuse on their [redacted] whois listing. I never received a reply. I also used their automated unsubscribe tool to try to remove me from their mailing list. I received another unsolicited email from www.[redacted] through bronto.com's service today, Fri 5/8/2015. This company thus does not comply with CAN-SPAM laws (because their customers are allowed to send emails to recipients who have requested their email address be unsubscribed), and does not respond to reports of abuse of their software (because no response was received after contacting their publicly-listed abuse contact).Desired SettlementFirst and most obviously I want to be unsubscribed from all mass emails through bronto.com. Second, I want bronto.com to look into [redacted] usage of their services, to ensure that that customer is complying with bronto.com's mass email policies and CAN-SPAM law; and if [redacted] is not complying, to take appropriate action. I want to receive some sort of contact from bronto.com to show that they are indeed doing this. Third, I want an affirmation from bronto.com that they will promptly respond to all future messages sent to [redacted] from any individual.Business Response I spoke to our client on this issue and the complainant has been removed from their database. The email address was incorrectly obtained while they were collecting more information on their current subscribers. An incorrect match occurred resulting in the wrong email address being contacted. Our company does not allow any form of data appending and the client was notified and penalized for their mistake. I contact the complainant to explain what happened and the actions we took against the client. Consumer Response Bronto.com has looked into the offending customer, found they were in violation of their terms, and penalized them. They have fulfilled all that I requested for this complaint, so this complaint is resolved. Their response was not very fast (over 3 months from when I filed the complaint until the complaint was resolved), but Bronto.com ultimately fulfilled all that was requested of them.Final Consumer Response
