Review: On July **, 2014, I purchased several glasses - (frames) after my vision was checked by their doctor. I received two of three glasses without any problems. However, the glasses that I need for every day use, were not ready because the frames I selected needed to be ordered. After numerous, I mean numerous attempts of going and calling the Bronx Opt. office, the manager told me they were unable to get the frames. I return to the store and selected another frame. That being said, there was a long waiting period, again for the frame. No one contacted me, so I contacted the regional manger explained to her my situation. I told her I was not happy with what was going on. That I wanted to be reimbursed the amount of money I spend or get competent service.

She contacted the store manager and I was compensated with a pair of inexpensive frames as I waited for my initial (very expensive glasses) to come in. Funny enough, they were able to get these glasses correct, go figure!

Weeks later, I received a call from the office and they told me to come in, my glasses were in, they said. I went to their office and picked up my long awaited glasses.

Less than two months go by, as I am driving to work, the glasses break in the middle of the nose bridge. Needless to say, the problem I had driving to work and how I was inconvenienced that day (I am a teacher and needed them to be able to teach along with attending a training that day!). I returned to the store, explained to a new manager my situation. She apologize. I told her the regional manager is aware of my discord and all the mishaps Ive been through. To make a long story short, I select a new frame. My order goes out so I can get my glasses. They call me several weeks later, I go in to pick them up. The glasses were cut incorrectly and on top of that, I was unable to see well. They had me see their doctor who checked my vision and the prescription lenses. Only to discover, my eye prescription was off. You cannot make this story up!

So, they had to reorder the lenses, with the new prescription. However, not only did they use an incorrect prescription, they did not include transitional lenses with the prescription! To think, I spent over $1,000 on them.

Unfortunately, I had to contact the regional manager (again) to reintroduce myself and my current problem regarding these glasses. In December, 2015 she said she would call me back. She never did. The second week into 2016, I had to call the regional supervisor who stated she called me and left a message on my voice mail. I told her I never received one, then she offered some lame excuse. I added, that no one from her company followed up with me, as she promised. Two days after my call to her, I get a call from the eye center. I am scheduled to return to the office and have the lenses fit into the frame...which I have. As a footnote, the regional manager said refunds are not given, only store credit. Even with that said, they cannot get my eye glasses correct!

Help me please!Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: II went to Bronx Eye care on 7/*/13 located at [redacted] I had a Groupon that I paid $35 for. This included an eye exam and plus $225 toward eye glasses and frames. Since I don’t have vision insurance I thought this was a good deal. The glasses were way overpriced when I selected my frames. I pay cash as I don’t have a vision plan. I saw Medicaid customers were steered to the cheaper set of frames and the cost was nothing with the frames and lens. When I went to price frames I asked for the cheapest frames and now the same frames were $100 -just for the frames. I knew I was being ripped off because prior customers were getting the same frame plus lens for $100. Worst of all the eye exam was a five minute run through with no eye pressure test. I’ve never had a skimpier exam in my life. After I was done, I realized I’d be better served with an online lens distributor so I asked for my prescription in writing including a papillary distance number. I was told they do not measure for papillary distance. That’s a basic measurement for eye exams. I can’t fathom such a minimal exam is allowed in NY State. They overcharge for goods but more than that, they do not provide the minimum eye care for the community and something should be done about it I paid $250 for my glasses. That was deceptive and immoral. Regards, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I'll have to go and get another eye exam from an optometrist so I can get the Pupillary Distance measured and order glasses online. would like a $50 refund for this .
