Requested how do I go about getting my security deposit of $950. The property manager instructed I was not getting my deposit back. Requested how do I go about getting my security deposit of $950. The property manager instructed I was not getting my deposit back because the home was not clean and then he changed what he was saying because it was due to not giving a 30 day notice. I explained to him that I did give a 30 day notice to vacate & that the home was cleaned and left the same way I moved in minus home decor that was hung on the walls. I instructed him that I spoke to a young lady over the phone and instructed her that I would be leaving by Oct. 1, 2015. That was the same time I asked when my lease was up. I asked her if this was sufficient notice and she told me yes Ms. [redacted] I will make a note in your file and no problem. I was trying to stay under the management company and also spoke to [redacted] several times about looking for other houses in the [redacted] area. I paid my rent on time and according to the lease and my home was immaculate and every maintenance worker can say the same. I had several problems throughout my lease at the property [redacted] and several complaints that went unaddressed. I lived with rats, mice, & squirrels in my attack for 3 months and they never sent anyone out to take care of the problem. Also, my air condition went out on several occasions in the summer and we spent 1-2 weeks without air with my 1 year old son. During my stay there the entire cabinet fell down on my brother and he was injured. There were no accommodations that were made for his injury and I explained to them my son could have died if my brother had not been there and moved him out of the way. I feel as if I was setup by the staff of Brookfield Property because if the staff member had not told me my notice would be documented and it was not a problem it would have been nothing to write it myself. I feel like they purposely lied to me to keep my money. Desired SettlementRefund of my security deposit Business Response This is a bogus complaint by a tenant who complained about wanting out of her lease. Because we would not let her out of her lease she decided she was going to complain constantly about the property. When she called we always sent someone out to work on whatever it was. They pulled a cabinet off the wall, it was over a counter so how could it hit someone in the head? The house was in great shape when they moved in and now requires several thousand dollars of work. Also, she never gave any notice that she was moving, another lie on her part. [redacted]

Company promised that repirs and clean up will be done even if I go on and move in. No one has started on repair list that was turned in in August.Complaints were made before moving in August and I was told that repairs will be done. Since the the garage door has broken and even though I reported that I have seen someone leave out of my garage twice, the garage door is still broken. The house has a smell of sewage or old standing water that makes me or any visitors sick with nausea since the move in. I call the office often and no one comes out. Other complaints include things like tub repairs...water leaks through the wall into the bedroom, door knobs broken, shower heads and knobs broken, and several other minor repairs.Desired SettlementJust want all the repairs to be completedBusiness Response January 9, 2015Re:[redacted]Memphis, TN 38115To whom it may concern,All repairs that[redacted] requested to be complete prior to move in, were in fact completed beforeshe moved in or shortly after. I have made several attempts to meet with[redacted] at [redacted] OakCreek to assess the maintenance repairs, and sewage smell that she reported after the initial repairswere completed with no success. In attempt to meet[redacted] at her house, I spoke with herdaughter on four to five different occasions and I did not smell anything like sewage or standing water.Any time[redacted] reported any maintenance or service calls to our office. We have sent a vendorout to assess the issues and make the necessary repairs/service to resolve the problem in a timelymanner. If you need further information, please contact me @ 901-685-5585.Best regards,[redacted]Property Manager, Bookfield Properties
