Review: On 3/*/15 I was in the hospital and have no insurance. I done the charity care paper work as requested and given to me by Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. After sending all my paper work in and giving all documents as requested the first time around I had received paper work on 4/*/15 stating my application for charity care was approved for free care. On 5/*/15 I received another letter stating that Brookhaven Memorial Hospital made a mistake and that the amount billed originally was owed to them. A message was left for the billing department and someone had called back. When speaking to the person she was very rude and would not let me get a word edge wise and was over speaking me and when I asked her if she would let me speak she was even more nasty. I do not feel as if the charity care paper work should be denied after one month of having paper work in my hand of proof it was approved.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome that I would like to have is the original paper work that was sent on 4/*/15 to stay in effect due to it being a mistake or issue on the billing departments end. I do not feel as if they are allowed to send approval paper work which is proof and then a month later say they take that back and its no longer approved. I do not feel as if that is proper business especially for a well known hospital. If they did this to me how many other people are they doing it to as well to make money especially when individuals do no have health insurance and cannot afford there bill.
