Review: Went to get my car washed on july 4th 2015. I got called on by an employee because the car auto locked, which I previously explained before they started washing my car. I noticed that the driver side wind deflector was ripped off and put back into place using tape. The employee lied about the tape saying that it was there to keep water from getting into my car. I told him to take off the tape, as he did so the wind defector came off the car. He then threw it in the back seat and said he would take care of it later. When my car was finished I noticed that the same employee was using bonding cement to attach the wind deflector back onto the car without prior approval from me. The cement was everywhere and also got onto the paint. The manager/owner was very rude claiming that his employee was not "trained" to put on the wind deflector. I complain about the messy cement/glue job, he said that they would remove it with a solvent. The solvent also took off the paint with the cement/glue. The manager/owner continued to refer to me as "lady" and told me that it was all he could do and to leave. Other customers came up to me asking me what was wrong as as I was telling them and showing them all the scratches and things that the car wash did to my car, the manager/owner came over and said it was not his fault and preceded to try to get me off the public property that I was parked on by his business.Desired Settlement: I want my $20 that I paid for my car wash back since my car was not even washed. I also want the business to pay to get the cement off my car and to get the scratch and the paint imperfections caused by the cement getting onto the paint and the solvent that was applied to the paint by an employee of the business acting on the businesses behalf.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

On the day of question, my window visor or "wind deflector" came off in the tunnel of the car wash. There were signs up saying that the business is not liable for loose accessories. I never had a problem with it while going to other car wash businesses however the one I frequent was closed that day. My window visor came off and the employee attempted to attach it back onto my vehicle. If your business is not responsible or reliable for the damage to the window visor then you should have declined to attempt to attach the piece back to the vehicle. Since you ALLOWED your employee to fix it, he damaged my vehicle. This employee used rubber cement to attach the window visor. The rubber cement went everywhere since the employee did not seem to know what he was doing. It got onto the paint of the car. My daughter and I complained about this and the manager told this employee to go get a "solvent" to remove the rubber cement. Using this "solvent" caused layers of paint to come off the vehicle where the employee applied a rag with said "solvent" to wipe off the rubber cement. We have video and photo of all the damaged this employee cause my vehicle while he attempted to attach the window visor back onto the vehicle. If you are not responsible for something, do not try to fix something you "aren't responsible for.
