Review: On Saturday 12/**/13 at 1:17PM I dropped off a dress jacket and slacks to the cleaners for them to measure and taper the sleeves and tighten the overall jacket. I needed it within their 48 hr turnaround for a company party but on Monday 12/**/13 I received a call from the business stating that there had been a mistake and I needed to come in my jacket wouldn't be ready. I came in the following Saturday 12/**/13 and they showed me that my jacket had two pairs of pin holes on both sides of the jacket where the associates attached their tapering tools. I was told that they could fix it, gave them the benefit of the doubt, and I returned every weekend (12/**, 12/**, 12/**) to a new excuse until Thursday 1/**/14 where they had the jacket in stock. The holes were covered by laying the fabric over the them effectively changing the style and forcing the jacket to be a certain length and now the jacket was ruined by the repairs. I was given the managers number that day and was told that he would call me back the following day. To this day I have no received a call from his number. Instead, I have had to call him each and every time and had not been allowed to speak with him merely being told he would call me back. I most recently was able to get in contact with him Monday 1/**/2014 and he admitted that the jacket was irreparable and tried to offer me $180 then $220 in damages. The jacket was bought for $500 and on the back of the receipt they have the standard clause of "The company's liability with respect to any lost or damaged article shall not exceed 10 times our charge for processing it". I was charged $36 for the work done on the jacket so I expect $360. I also have no received a refund for any of the original $48 I paid for the jacket and slacks, the cleaners are still in posession of both articles of clothing.Desired Settlement: $360

Review: I dropped off a number of items of clothing at the Brooklyn Cleaners Depot for dry cleaning and tailoring on or about May **, 2013. Upon returning for pick up, I found one of those items, the pants of a grey striped Alfani Red suit, was not properly hemmed as requested. I left the pants for further work, but they could not be located when I returned to pick them up again.

After returning numerous times to pick up the pants, a clerk informed me that the pants could not be located and that the store's owner had requested that I bring in the matching jacket for help in locating the pants. I dropped off the suit jacket at the store as requested but was informed by the clerk sometime thereafter that the pants could not be located and that I should contact the store owner (identified later in this complaint). I reached the owner on the phone and he gave me his email address and told me to send him information on the cost and style of the suit and he would have a replacement sent to me in the mail. I sent the owner an email with the requested information on August **, 2013, and he told me on the phone a short time later that he would take care of it. I have not received a replacement suit or any dollar amount, and the owner has not taken or returned any of my calls since that time. I finally sent a formal complaint and demand letter to the business on October **, 2013.Desired Settlement: If the original suit pants and jacket cannot be located, I would like to recover the replacement cost of $343.75. This amount includes the replacement value for the suit of $296.78 (including $279.98 for similar style replacement suit and $16.80 estimated tax), an additional $16.97 that I paid to Brooklyn Cleaners Depot for hemming and dry cleaning of the suit at the time of the incident, and an estimated amount of $30.00 for alterations.
