Although the people of Brooks Plumbing were quite nice, I will not use this plumbing service again for cleaning a sewer line. (Other friends have liked their indoor plumbing services.)
1. Rounded their time up from phone call to time they left my house (probably standard practice?).
2. Not only charged for traveling time to get to my home (probably standard practice?), but "did not bring the right truck" with the sewer auger -- what I had specifically asked for -- and had to go back to get it (I should not have been charged that time).
3. They could not put a large blade on the auger, because the screw to release the small blade "was rusted on." (I am concerned that remaining roots in the sewer line will catch debris soon and the problem will arise again.)
4. Their electric auger quit running, because "it cuts off when it overheats." They tried a hand-crank auger without a blade and that "coiled back on itself" and was useless. Then they went back to the electric auger for a while. (They should have rebated some of the wasted time.)
Conclusion: They probably believe that they were honestly charging for their total expended time; but, I do not want to pay labor costs again for such inefficiency and poor equipment.
