Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I feel that this business is committing fraud by trying to have it both ways They are saying that they are a new business with new policies that are operating in the same office yet they are not following the same agreement that was signed by myself for our dental needs I feel that if they are not honoring the same agreement that I signed then we are considered new patients and we should get the $first exam deal They should be refunding us the overcharge not billing us for any additional money With that being said I would like to see any documents that I have signed agreeing to this new up charge they are suddenly billing me for? I have asked for a copy of the written contract holding me responsible for any outstanding bill for this dental visit? I did not know that this was a new office and that there were new policies However, I am saying that since they suddenly showed up at a place where we have gone for years and treated my adult son whom has never been a patient of Brookside Dental that fair thing to do and the right thing to do for him is to charge the going rate that they are charging everyone else which is $ We have never had an out of pocket expense for a month routine exam before and suddenly they overcharge the insurance company by triple their actual cost and are attempting to bill my son an additional $ Does that seem like a very ethical thing to do? They should refund all monies collected over the $in my opinion if they were an honest business I have asked for copies of the paperwork and never received them so if they turn me in to collections for my adult sons bill that will be grounds for a lawsuit and if they turn my son in without his signature on something stating that he is aware of any bill or responsible in any way then that also is grounds for a lawsuit The excessive billing issue isn't grounds for a lawsuit but is something that I feel should be brought to the attention of consumers and the Revdex.com because business's like this should be exposed for what they truly are interested in and that is greed-and making money My son [redacted] went in and they said that he had cavities and today we took him to an different Dental office and had another evaluation and he walked away with zero cavities With that being said I rest my case If you need any documentation of this please let me know because I will gladly send it over if it will put an end to such scandal in the long run.Sincerely, [redacted]

To Whom it May Concern,I would like to take a moment to respond to the communication provided from a previous patient regarding my practiceBrookside Dental Care has been in business for over yearsNever once have we had a complaint issued to your organizationAs a matter of fact we have
thousands of client testimonials stating how exemplary our customer service is.The individual in question called our office for an appointmentAt that time she was told that we would submit a claim for our services to her insurance companyShe was also told that she would be responsible for the difference between what we charge and what the insurance company paysIn addition, when she arrived for her appointment she signed our office policy which clearly states:"Your dental insurance is your financial responsibility, but we can helpAs a courtesy, we will submit your insurance claim for youIn doing so, please understand we are merely a third party and any dispute over the insurance payment is between you and your insurance carrierRegardless of what we might estimate as your dental benefit in dollars, we must stress the fact that you, the patient, are responsible for the total cost of your dental treatmentIn the event that your benefit plan pays less than the estimated amount, you are responsible for the unpaid balance."We have taken all appropriate avenues to collect on what we are owed.Regarding the X-rays, the office that requested the patient record was told on the same day that we will be sending them the X-raysThey have since received the x-raysAny complaint that we are holding them "hostage" is unfounded.I would like to thank you for your time and wish you a very happy holiday season.Sincerely,Navid H.DMD

Customer service is a priority to us and we do not want to have unsatisfied patients, therefore we have removed the no show fee from the patient's account.  Perhaps the patient would like to find another dental office that would better suit her needs.

I am rejecting this response because: they made that appointment by mistake, I NEVER made an appointment for a Friday at 8am because I am not even available on Fridays. I have witnesses to that phone call. Even charging me via ledger is incorrect. They charged my mothers Benny card the $40 fee and we can request the statement. This is not a professional And is far more incompetent than I imagined.
Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: I feel that this business is committing fraud by trying to have it both ways.  They are saying that they are a new business with new policies that are operating in the same office yet they are not following the same agreement that was signed by myself for our dental needs.  I feel that if they are not honoring the same agreement that I signed then we are considered new patients and we should get the $99 first exam deal.  They should be refunding us the overcharge not billing us for any additional money.  With that being said I would like to see any documents that I have signed agreeing to this new up charge they are suddenly billing me for?  I have asked for a copy of the written contract holding me responsible for any outstanding bill for this dental visit?  I did not know that this was a new office and that there were new policies.  However, I am saying that since they suddenly showed up at a place where we have gone for years and treated my adult son whom has never been a patient of Brookside Dental that fair thing to do and the right thing to do for him is to charge the going rate that they are charging everyone else which is $99.  We have never had an out of pocket expense for a 6 month routine exam before and suddenly they overcharge the insurance company by triple their actual cost and are attempting to bill my son an additional $45.  Does that seem like a very ethical thing to do?  They should refund all monies collected over the $99 in my opinion if they were an honest business.  I have asked for copies of the paperwork and never received them so if they turn me in to collections for my adult sons bill that will be grounds for a lawsuit and if they turn my son in without his signature on something stating that he is aware of any bill or responsible in any way then that also is grounds for a lawsuit.  The excessive billing issue isn't grounds for a lawsuit but is something that I feel should be brought to the attention of consumers and the Revdex.com because business's like this should be exposed for what they truly are interested in and that is greed-and making money.  My son [redacted] went in and they said that he had 14 cavities and today we took him to an different Dental office and had another evaluation and he walked away with zero cavities.  With that being said I rest my case.  If you need any documentation of this please let me know because I will gladly send it over if it will put an end to such scandal in the long run.Sincerely,[redacted]

To Whom It May Concern:Brookside Dental purchased Green Apple Dental on April 1, 2016. Prior to this transaction, Green AppleDental's policy for Union patients was to write off 100% of any patient portion that they incurred. Afterthe acquisition, Brookside Dental elected to change...

the 100% write-off to 50%.On September 15, 2016, the patient of concern had an exam/x- rays/cleaning appointment scheduled atour office. On September 12th, 2016, that appointment was being confirmed over the phone by Nicole, our financial coordinator. During that phone confirmation Nicole spoke with the patient's mother.According to Nicole's notes, she informed the mother of the changes in ownership as well as thechanges in copayments from 0% to 50%. The patient's mother then informed Nicole that she woulddiscuss these changes with her son in order to decide if he was going to continue treatment at BrooksideDental. On September 15th, the patient arrived at our office for his appointment. When asked for his copaymentof $45.05, he said he would discuss this charge with his mother. When the appointment invoice wassent to his residence, the mother called and stated that she was unaware of any of the changes andrefused to pay.Furthermore, the mother is stating that we advertise $99 for an exam/x-rays/cleaning but charged herson more. The $99 special we advertise is for new patients that have not been treated by the officebefore. Patients of Green Apple Dental are considered existing patients as we are continuing theirprevious care. Therefore we submitted our normal fees of $336. Insurance paid $245.90, leaving abalance of $90.10. We wrote off 50% of that total, leaving $45.05 as the patient portion. If you have any wuestions or concerns please do not hesitate to call me.

To Whom It May Concern: We are writing in response to a complaint received by [redacted]. It's unfortunate she feels there's been a miscommunication and we feel badly about it. We at Brookside Dental pride ourselves on quality dental care and superior customer service -- as such, we...

take great care with patient scheduling. To make an appointment for a patient without their knowledge would be poor business sense and does not benefit us in any way; time lost by a missed appointment is far more valuable than the nominal no-show fee we charge. The $40 fee for the missed appointment was added directly to the patient’s ledger. This fee is never billed to an insurance company, especially if the patient is not on that plan.  Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions or concerns. We would really like to resolve this amicably.
