Brookside Home Improvement did an excellent job installing vinyl siding on my bungalow. The company removed the old asphalt siding, installed new vinyl siding, storm windows, and two stained glass windows with interior window trim. To replicate the pattern of the original (mostly missing) wood siding of my 100-year-old craftsman bungalow, they installed the vinyl siding in alternate layers and colors of shake and triple lap board separated by decorative banding.
During the project, the installers uncovered two small window openings in the living room that had been enclosed under the old asphalt siding and found that the original stained-glass windows had been removed. Brookside replaced the missing windows with two salvaged stained-glass windows that I purchased at a resale shop, and installed craftsman-style interior window trim casings to match the other windows in my bungalow.
I am beyond pleased with the craftsman-period look of my bungalow siding. Eric ***, the owner, took the time to work with me on the specifications and sent numerous drawings to help me visualize the project. Eric has experience working with old bungalows and has done a lot of siding jobs in and around Oak Park, using the same crew for many years. The crew appeared to take pride in their work and completed the project in a timely manner, working steadily and hard, often in record July heat. Now, my craftsman bungalow looks fabulous and I have received lots of compliments from neighbors. I love seeing light come through the living room windows that were uncovered and reinstalled. It really opened up the space. After a disastrous experience the previous summer with an unscrupulous siding contractor who stole our deposit, I am so glad that I found Brookside.

We've used Brookside Home Improvement many times over the past 10-15 years. They replaced all the windows in second story of our home when we moved in, and we have not had any problems with the windows including during this past winter's polar vortex. In addition, they also replaced the roof on our home and on our garage and installed new gutters several years back. The work has always been completed on a timely basis, and the installers were very neat and professional. Overall, we've been extremely happy with our experience working with Brookside Home Improvement.

I paid for whole house new windows two years ago. The thermal seal has already gone on two windows and, lo and behold, when I call the company (Brookside Home Improvement) that installed them, I was told Vista went out of business. Just like that I'm officially screwed. I have no recourse and Brookside told me I'm out of luck - they will not honor their chosen window company. Thanks. For nothing.
