Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/06/22) */ This customer first contacted Brothers Electric Co on Sept 30, to correct the wiring he had done in the downstairs bathroom, ensure the outlets in the garage were gfci protected and to disconnect the hot tubWhen the electricians arrived at the appointment time on Oct 3rd, the customer, Mr ***, told the electricians that he had already corrected the wiring in the garage, that he wanted the gfci in the downstairs bathroom changed out and that the hot tub wiring needed to be disconnectedThe electricians on site told him there were many other corrections that were needed and he refused to allow the electricians to do the workBrothers Electric contacted the City of Plymouth and modified the description on the permit for only the work we did and then had the Electrical Inspector to inspect the workThe Electrical Inspector required the owner, Mr ***, to run a amp dedicated circuit to the downstairs bathroom so he contacted us to do the workBrothers Electric pulled an additional permit through the City of Plymouth for this work specifically and had the work inspected by the Electrical Inspector It is the belief of Brothers Electric and concurred by the City of Plymouth Electrical Inspector that the correction was due to the owner, Mr ***, attempting to do his own electrical work and was not a result of Brothers Electric doing anything incorrectlyThe job he originally contacted us for was something completely different than what the Electrical Inspector wanted done on our return visitThe owner, Mr ***, refused to have the work corrected upon suggestion from the electricians Brothers Electric had at the time of the original visitFurther, both of the jobs done for Mr [redacted] were completed in 2013, paid for at that time and inspected by the City of Plymouth Brothers Electric will not be providing a refund to Mr ***I have attached a copy of both inspection reports to show that both permits were finaled out and there were no corrections on either permit as proof that there was nothing wrong with any of the work that was performed by Brothers Electric Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/06/24) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) 1) The first Bill sent from Brother's Electric has one line describing the work done: "Make Bathroom corrections per request"The bathroom "corrections" refer to Electrical corrections in the basement bathroomThere are only electrical things in the bathroom - GFI outlet and one light bulb 2) Notice that the Bill was sent after the work was completed and the bill date is 10/03/ 3) Now notice that Brother's Electric pulled a permit with the City of Plymouth AFTER the work was completed on 10/09/- and the permit states: "CORRECT WIRING IN BATHROOM - DISCONNECT HOT TUB CIRCUIT" 4) So to conclude what happened so far IS that on 10/03/Brother's Electric completed the work and pulled a permit afterwardsHowever the work at this point IS COMPLETEDin other words the WIRING IN THE BATHROOM IS CORRECTED -right? 5) Now notice the City of Plymouth Correction Notice from Todd Sanders dated: 10/11/ Notice that the correction states that "Basement Bathroom requires 20Amp Circuit per receptacle." - SO THE WORK I WAS CHARGED FOR to "CORRECT WIRING IN THE BATHROOM" WAS NOT DONE RIGHT! I am rejecting response because: No offer by company to remedyRequesting reimbursement for inspection / permit fees above “cost” OR $ceiling repair. In either case, I will call inspector1. Called Brother’s Electric for bidI needed an “end-to-end” bid (including repair)They said they could do it so I picked them2. Instead of providing bid, they showed up and said I was subject to a $“call-out” feeI had them install a couple of lights so they would do bid.3. They never provided a detailed SOW. They said it was hourly “at most, it’ll be $2000”I made $payment and expected credit back. No scope creep yet final cost was ~$3500.4. I was over-billed $for materials (it was fixed) Companies should not be able to say “I’m just human” on errors of this magnitude and go unreportedI have phone records showing calls to Amy twice (& left messages) to understand bill. Ultimately, I called from friend’s phone to get her to pick up. When she finally provided a list of materials, she quickly reduced the bill from $to $Patricia Defrang, 507-206-was 3rd party listening on call.5. Amy states they called Nov I show no calls since SeptWrong number?6. I stated I would sue if issues arise due to non-inspected electrical work.7. They damaged a bathroom ceiling (fixed), a hallway wall (patched badly) and a gameroom ceiling (not fixed).8. I would not have done recessed cans had I known patch work would cost $800. I ultimately refused to have the patch work done by them and had it done elsewhere for $this week.9. No smear campaign just public comments: 1) Reported to Revdex.com w/follow-up 2) One truthful review on facebook page.10. They painted the bathroom (~5x8)It was easier for them to use my paint than to match existing bathroom color. They originally just mudded it and left. Rather than paint the room, I prefer they not poke a hole in the wrong ceiling

We are required to pull permits through either the State of MN or through individual cities by sending in a permit application with the fees associated with the permit and inspection. Once the work is completed we are required to have the inspector out to look and approve the work we do.
Once a permit is filed then it must be inspectedThis project was finished on Sept and we contacted customer on Sept 28th and also Nov 15th to attempt to schedule inspections. This customer was out of the Country and was to contact us when she arrived homeemails were exchanged yesterday between Brothers and this customer where she made unrealistic demands and threatsAt the end she never said if she wanted Brothers Electric to coordinate the inspectionIt is not the policy of the State of MN for a homeowner to pay money directly to an inspector nor is it their policy to cancel an open permit for work already completedWe are obligated by our licensing to have this work inspectedI can assure the customer as well as the Revdex.com that if any corrections arise from the work that we did they will be covered under our warrantyAs stated in our response to this customer’s previous complaint to the Revdex.com, there was an error in her billing that was remedied back in Sept and also that Brothers Electric paid to patch and paint the ceiling in the bathroom as per the agreementWe also approved the contractor to paint the entire bathroom a different color, at no cost to the customerThe agreement did not include patching or painting of the game roomBrothers Electric has made attempts to get the work inspected and has spent much time defending themselves from this customers smear campaign not only on Revdex.com website but also on various social media sitesWe request that the customer comply with the State of MN regulations by allowing us to coordinate the inspection or by scheduling the inspection herselfWe also request that this customer cease her attack of our company

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/22) */
This customer first contacted Brothers Electric Co on Sept 30, to correct the wiring he had done in the downstairs bathroom, ensure the outlets in the garage were gfci protected and to disconnect the hot tubWhen the electricians arrived
at the appointment time on Oct 3rd, the customer, Mr ***, told the electricians that he had already corrected the wiring in the garage, that he wanted the gfci in the downstairs bathroom changed out and that the hot tub wiring needed to be disconnectedThe electricians on site told him there were many other corrections that were needed and he refused to allow the electricians to do the workBrothers Electric contacted the City of Plymouth and modified the description on the permit for only the work we did and then had the Electrical Inspector to inspect the workThe Electrical Inspector required the owner, Mr ***, to run a amp dedicated circuit to the downstairs bathroom so he contacted us to do the workBrothers Electric pulled an additional permit through the City of Plymouth for this work specifically and had the work inspected by the Electrical Inspector
It is the belief of Brothers Electric and concurred by the City of Plymouth Electrical Inspector that the correction was due to the owner, Mr ***, attempting to do his own electrical work and was not a result of Brothers Electric doing anything incorrectlyThe job he originally contacted us for was something completely different than what the Electrical Inspector wanted done on our return visitThe owner, Mr ***, refused to have the work corrected upon suggestion from the electricians Brothers Electric had at the time of the original visitFurther, both of the jobs done for Mr *** were completed in 2013, paid for at that time and inspected by the City of Plymouth
Brothers Electric will not be providing a refund to Mr ***I have attached a copy of both inspection reports to show that both permits were finaled out and there were no corrections on either permit as proof that there was nothing wrong with any of the work that was performed by Brothers Electric
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
1) The first Bill sent from Brother's Electric has one line describing the work done: "Make Bathroom corrections per request"The bathroom "corrections" refer to Electrical corrections in the basement bathroomThere are only electrical things in the bathroom - GFI outlet and one light bulb
2) Notice that the Bill was sent after the work was completed and the bill date is 10/03/
3) Now notice that Brother's Electric pulled a permit with the City of Plymouth AFTER the work was completed on 10/09/- and the permit states: "CORRECT WIRING IN BATHROOM - DISCONNECT HOT TUB CIRCUIT"
4) So to conclude what happened so far IS that on 10/03/Brother's Electric completed the work and pulled a permit afterwardsHowever the work at this point IS COMPLETEDin other words the WIRING IN THE BATHROOM IS CORRECTED -right?
5) Now notice the City of Plymouth Correction Notice from Todd Sanders dated: 10/11/
Notice that the correction states that "Basement Bathroom requires 20Amp Circuit per receptacle." - SO THE WORK I WAS CHARGED FOR to "CORRECT WIRING IN THE BATHROOM" WAS NOT DONE RIGHT! That is what the City Inspector says! He STATES that is needs to be corrected!
6) I called Brother's electric to come back and correct the wiring they already charged me forThey came and corrected the issue by installing the proper wiring -amp wireWhich they should have done at their first visit! However soon after I did receive a second Bill now suddenly titled: "Run Circuit for GFI in bathroom"
7) Now notice that Brother's Electric received FINAL approval on this Permit actually on 11/07/Way after they pulled a second permit and did an installation of amp wiring in order to correct the work done on the first permit they pulled
SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS THAT SUPPORT THIS CLAIM
I REQUEST A REFUND FROM BROTHER's ELECTRIC FOR THE SECOND BILL at the amount of $
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/06/26) */
Mr *** is correct, the initial visit was to correct the existing wiring in the bathroom, disconnect the hot tub and to correct wiring in the garageHe had already done the work in the garage so we did not do thisThe work that was done was to "correct wiring in bathroom per request" which was done and billed forThe permit was mailed in to the City of Plymouth on Sept 30th and mailed back to Brothers Electric which is why there is a date discrepancyI have never seen the inspection report that Mr *** provided requiring him to install the 20amp circuit because that was not an order based on our permit for correcting the existing wiring in the bathroom and disconnecting the hot tubAdding the amp circuit to the bathroom was new wiring and had nothing to do with the electrical that Brothers Electric corrected, which is why the separate permit was necessary and he was billed for that work
As shown on the previous records I provided, my permits were both finaled with no corrections by the City of Plymouth Electrical Inspector
As I explained in my previous response, Mr *** was told by the electricians on the first trip that there were many other corrections necessary and he refused to have those done
I do find it interesting that Mr *** waited almost years before filing a complaint about this and am wondering what the motive behind this isThe reason Mr *** had to hire an electrician in the first place is because he was attempting to do electrical work on his own and was caught by the City of PlymouthWe did what he requested us to do and I find it appalling that he would request a refund for work he asked us to complete after months have gone by
The second visit to run the amp circuit was a separate job and not the result of any work done by Brothers Electric on the first visitTherefore no refund will be given
