Brothers' Ornamental Railings

Review: On Aprill 17th I entered into a contract and paid 1/2 of the charges $600 for a railing that was supposed to be completed within 6 weeks for the outside front steps of my house which was a requirement from my homeowners company. Despite the down payment the work has still not been performed. It is now 9/27/13 and despite numerous phone calls and emails to the company none have been returned and the service not performed. In addition to this complaint I need to know if I should take legal action as well. At this point I feel like I have been taken and this company is fraudulent and just stole my deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund or the work performed in a timely matter.

The complaint filed by [redacted] was an issue of us not having the time to perform the work at his house and his deposit was completely refunded, and he was satisfied with the refund and nothing further was discussed.

Review: In January 2015 I called [redacted], owner of Brothers railing, about installing a railing on my front steps of my home address. He came measured and we agreed on a price of $800. On February 15th 2015 I delivered a deposit of $400 cash to his business at [redacted], Long Branch, NJ, I have a receipt. He told me it would be done in 3 weeks because he is backed up. By March it was not done so I went to talk to him he told me he was busy and waiting for the order. In April they came to install a rail but it was the wrong size and never installed. After that I have been to been to visit [redacted] about 15 times because he does not answer the phone. He has told me every excuse like in August, he told me "I have your railing in the box and will do it in 2 weeks", there was a death in the family, In december he kicked me off his property and said it will be done in a week. On January 3 he agree to send me a check for full refund $400 it never came. I drove to Brothers Railing on January 15th at 9am and [redacted] saw me coming and ran to the car and said "the check is in the mail". It has been one week and I never received a check for $400. My railings were never installed and all I have is a receipt saying I gave [redacted] $400 depositDesired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my $400 deposit plus Revdex.com cost. Because the work was never completed and I do not trust [redacted] of brothersrailings.com to do the job.

Railings came out nice, but they damaged our front porch. They were sloppy with the install. Used a hammer on the siding to connect it to the top of the railing! Terrible. Left huge dents. Said they would come back to fix it, of course they never did. Now our house lost any curb appeal it once had. Have to get a siding guy to fix it.
