Review: Brown Building Corp. had replaced our roof on our house, since that time it had not been inspected to see if he had done a correct job, and shingles had blown off and we have had leaks in our roof causing damage inside our house.Desired Settlement: Also refund some of our money.

The mortgage company told him to pay me back the [redacted] inspector told him to pay back he did not comply he came up with a bill with what he spent money on and said I would receive a 900 dollar refund which I have not received he wont return emails messages or faxs or phone calls. I have documentation stating he owes me the 900 dollars and I have proof I gave him 4000 dollars.Desired Settlement: Pay me mmy 900.00 dollars

Review: We contracted this company to replace our flat roof to stop the leaking from the ceiling. After just two days and the first day of rain, water can pouring through our roof and we had to put buckets and towels to soak it up. The ceiling looks as if it is going to cave in and the flat roof replacement this company put in is clearly leaking. The owner of the company came to look at it a week after the rainfall and complaint and he has not answered my family's phone calls or texts since. Also he had a dumpster on our property that we advised him not to put on paved driveway but he did anyway. It was picked up and tour up the driveway causing damage that is over $700 in repair costs for the driveway.Desired Settlement: We would like either our money back so we can hire s company to actually fix our leaking roof or finish the job. I do not think he knows what he is doing and our flat roof was an experiment for the company. Also we have to pay a company to fix the driveway which we should not be held accountable for.

Response:

The customer was given an estimate to replace his flat roof which was way beyond its life expectancy. The customer stated that he could not afford to replace it and would like us to "make it stop leaking". We then gave another estimate for patching the roof in areas we felt were leaking. The customer was told that we would do our best to stop the leaks but a proper replacement of the roof was what was necessary. On numerous occasions our company went out to the job and made repairs in the areas we felt were leaking. It took multiple times as it is impossible to know exactly where the leaks are coming from without doing the job properly which was also conveyed to the customer. As of now the customer has stated there are no leaks. With regards to the driveway, it was already badly damaged. The dumpster was placed on the driveway as there was no other place to put it. The only damage created by the dumpster was the dents left from the wheels. The customer was told we would come and check it out and patch what was necessary. The customer paid another company to fix their entire driveway which was broken prior to any work done by us. We are not responsible for the price they paid (or are claiming they paid) for a new driveway. We are a general contractor and could easily have patched it as we did with the roof. We completed the work that was contracted with the customer and do not feel there is any liability on our end

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for helping me with this issue. As I said in the initial message, the roof immediately started leaking after the first rainfall, which is what they were hired to do. The owner of the company, Tommy B[redacted], came to our house 2 weeks after we called and texted him at least half a dozen times. I had to have my daughter call him from her phone since he did not recognize the number and finally picked up. After this phone call he finally came and put some sort of glue on the spots he thinks it was leaking from on the roof. If he did not think he could do the job properly he should not have taken the job and said he could only replace it not fix it. As you can see in the photos how easily the glue/ material on the roof comes off making tears and holes and where the water is piling up and leaking in. The pantry ceiling where it is leaking in, caused quite a mess with paint chips and water all over after spending 2 days putting the pantry back together. We had 3 buckets in the pantry being filled up with where it continued to leak after Tommy B[redacted] company finished their job on the roof.

[redacted] owner of company charged me 4000.00 dollars for blueprints 6 sets of sealed blueprints which I paid and never received. The mortgage company told him to pay me back the [redacted] inspector told him to pay back he did not comply he came up with a bill with what he spent money on and said I would receive a 900 dollar refund which I have not received he wont return emails messages or faxs or phone calls.
