We paid for barstools seven months ago and have not received them or a refund.
We met with the owner on December 14, 2019 in store and paid in full $1000 for four barstools by credit card. We still haven't received them or a refund. Over the past six months I have texted and called multiple times and was given a variety of excuses, first that they were being stained, then that they had been sent to the upholstery company, then said that company shut down for snow, then said he had had medical issues, and now he has stopped responding.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund or the barstools that were allegedly In the process of being made for us.

custom coffee table
Hello, I purchased a custom coffee table before the pandemic, and they haven't delivered. I understand the delay, but it looks like they're closing up shop. Their phone number is no longer valid, and they're not responding to email. I want my coffee table or my $500 (+ tax) back.

Desired Outcome

I'd actually prefer the table, but I'll take a refund. I can't go home empty-handed.

Hi Deane. Did you ever get any type of resolution on this? I just ordered a piece of furniture from this same guy and 2 weeks has now turned into 4. He sent me a picture of himself in the hospital recently and said he's been sick but has also told others the same in the past (based on others reviews). One person went as far as to say they also received a picture of him "in the hospital". Today he sent me a nude pic of some random guy and said his niece and nephew accidently sent it from his phone. I feel like I'm never going to see my furniture or refund. I would like to reach out to you if possible as I will be in the process of collecting a list of customers that also never received their furniture or refund. Thanks.

On 12/28/19 we paid $2,252.25 for a custom-made piece of furniture. As of 03/31/20 we still have not received the furniture nor a refund.
On December 28th I visited the Brown Dog Wood Co. on Scaleybark Road, and spoke with Shawn W (the owner) about having a custom-made media table made. I gave him the dimensions and specifications for the table, and he informed me that he would need 2-3 weeks to produce an electronic rendering of the piece, which I would need to approve before it was made. All told, he said that he expected we would have the piece in 8 weeks. Shawn then informed me that I would need to pay in full for the furniture, and so I paid him $2,252.25 using a credit card.

I first contacted him in late-January when I hadn't received the rendering he referenced. He said that he was going through some personal medical issues, and hadn't been able to work on our piece, but that he expected to be back to work within a few days and would send something over then. When I still hadn't seen anything from him by mid-February, I started contacting him every few days. Each time talked, he would give me some personal reason (medical issues, employee issues, material issues, etc.) for why he was running behind, but each time promised that he was "working on it." I even requested to meet with him at his shop, but when I drove there the store was closed, despite it being during the posted business hours.

Over the past few weeks I have been asking for money back, and he has told me that he can't do that because the furniture "was already being made." But when I requested photos of the piece, he gave additional excuses about why he couldn't provide them. And then today when I reached out, again he stated that he couldn't give us a refund, and when I told him that I was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, he said that if I did he would likely have to file for bankruptcy.

Ultimately, it has been over three months, and I have no evidence that he has been working on the piece. And unfortunately, I have realized that when I first met with him on 12/28/19, he did not give me any receipt or contract for the work. Therefore, the only record that I have that this order was ever placed is from my credit card statement, which I have attached to this complaint.

Desired Outcome

I would like to have the full $2,252.25 refunded.
