This letter is in disagreement with a letter from B*** Shoes, Inc* *** ** *** ***
*** *** *** *** *** dated November 18, that was received bythe Revdex.com of Central Ohio regarding a complaint that I filed on November 17,with the Revdex.com (Complaint ID *** against B*** ShoesOnOctober 19, 2016, I purchased one pair of New Balance shoes for $from this store butwas not given a full refund for the return of these shoes on November 16, (my ***Card was credited $134.38)I returned a pair of New Balance shoes to this store within theday time frame as printed on their receipt but was charged a fitting fee and a restockingfee that I was never told about, with an overcharge totaling $($for a fitting feeplus a $restocking fee and $sales tax)I would like to receive a $refund forthis amountThe reason that I am so late in responding to this is because I was out of thestate due to a family health emergency. The following information explains, in detail, my transactions with B*** Shoes, Incand thereasons for my request for a refund of $16.12.On October 13, 2016, B*** Shoes allowed me to take pairs of shoes home "OnApproval." I was given a yellow store receipt which included: my name, address, date that Itook the shoes home "On Approval," an approval code number, my credit card number andexpiration date, and information on the three pairs of shoes: manufacturer, style number andpriceAt the top of the yellow store receipt, the salesperson, Maria, wrote " Be back Wed.,October 19th, 2016"My credit card was not charged for these shoes. On October 19, 2016, the date the shoes were to be returned, I returned the pairs ofshoes that I had "On Approval" along wlth the yellow store receiptOn October 19, 2016, Ipurchased one pair of shoes with the retail price of $135.00, which I charged to my ***Card (salesperson, Maria, ran my *** card)At the time of this purchase, thesalesperson, Maria, added an additional charge of $and, with the sales tax ($10.50),totaled $I asked Maria why she charged me an additional $and she said that itwas the charge for her to fit me as she was a pedorthistMaria did not modify the shoes as Ihad my own custom-made orthotics and she was the only salesperson fitting customersItold her that she never told me that there was an additional charge for ing on shoes, norwas there a sign displayed in the store stating that there was a shoe fitting chargeIpurchased the shoes as I was having difficulty finding a pair in my sizeAt the time of thepurchase, I asked Maria what the store's return policy was and she stated, "refunds for fullcredit had to be made within days from the date of purchase and in unworn condition."Printed on my *** Card receipt from B*** Shoes was the date, "October 19, 2016" aswell as the words "Refunds must be within days in unworn condition."On November 16, 2001, I returned the above pair of shoes and I gave the storesalesperson, Maria, my October 19, *** Card receipt for $I told Maria thatthe shoes were slipping on my heels and I would like to return them and receive a refund of$Maria stated that the return was beyond days and she could only give me a storecreditI told her that I purchased the shoes on October 19, 2016, as printed on my ***Card receipt and, also, printed on the receipt are the words, "Refunds Must Be Within 30days." I reminded Maria that I had asked her what the return policy was on the date that Ipurchased the shoes, which was on October 19, 2016, and she said that returns had to bemade within days.Maria requested assistance from the owner of the store, Jeff B***, and he, also, stated thatmy return was beyond days as I originally took the shoes home "On Approval" on October13, He would give me a store credit for the full amount but would not give me a refundof $to my *** CardI explained that I wanted to receive a full refund to my*** Card as I purchased and charged the shoes to my *** Card on October 19,2016, and it was within the days of purchase and they were in unworn condition plusOctober 19, was the ONE and ONLY date that my *** Card was charged by B***Shoes.I returned the shoes days from the original date of purchase, October 19, MrB***stated that he would give me a refund of $on my *** Card instead of a full refundof $He would not refund the additional $fitting fee and deducted another $10.00for a restocking feeI stated that, just like the fitting fee, I was never told that there was a$restocking fee when I asked what the refund policy was prior to completing thepurchaseIt is neither printed on the *** Card sales receipt nor is it printed on the yellowstore receipt and there is no sign displayed in the store stating that there is a $10.00restocking feeThe New Balance shoes that I returned were in stock and were not speciallyordered for me.In addition, I would like to clarify that I did not try to return shoes that were not purchased atB*** ShoesI accidentally brought the wrong box of New Balance shoes from my homeIrealized my mistake when the salesperson, Maria, opened the box of shoes and stated that theshoes were from another storeThe receipt from the other store was, also, inslde the box ofshoesI told Maria of the mistake and the owner was not there when the mistake wasdlscovered.I believe that there was a misunderstanding by the owner of B*** Shoes and the salespersonregarding the date that I purchased the shoes, on October 19, 2016, and the date that Ireturned the shoes for a refund, on November 16, Since the return was within days,I would appreciate a refund of $either by check or a credit to my *** CardThankyou for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,*** ** ***

Brown Shoes is a licsenced Pedorthic practice which deals in Footwear.  The customer was evaluated and helped to select footwear for her custom orthotic from another practioneer.  The customer also wanted a consultation on the fit of her shoes from a different store.  She came late in...

the day and keep the staff 30 minutes past closing.  We do have a right to charge for our services and the $5 fee was included in her original bill.  This fee is not refundable.  The return policy is 30 days from the orginal consultation which was 10/13/16.  The customer was offered a store credit for the full value of her transaction as her return was past the 30 day limit and our policy clearly states no refunds past 30 days .  She demanded a refund so we made an exception for her and refunded $134.38  $10 was deducted as a restocking fee.  In review , this customer was fitted, evauluated and allowed to try multiple pairs of shoes and sizes at home for almost a week before she made up her mind to purchase a pair.  She then waited 34 days to return them.  She tried to bring back a pair of shoes to us a week before that were not even purchased at Brown Shoes and was told to take them back to where she purchased them.  As hard as we try not all customers can be pleased no matter how hard you try. Sincerely Brown Shoes inc.

The return policy is posted on the entrance/door/exit of the store, it is also posted on the check-out counter and on the back of the sales receipt and on the front of the charge slip.  It states no refund after 30 days store credit only.  The problem with Ms [redacted] stems from her thinking the sale begins when she was charged for the merchandise when in fact it begins when she took the shoes out on approval.  Note this is special consideration given to customers who want time to consider which item they want and to avoid refunds and the costs associated with the transaction.  The whole reason of letting her take shoes out with-out charge was to avoid all this problem.  Note we have been using this method for over 10 years with great success.  We were not required to refund any money to her but gave her all but $10 back which is our restocking fee for non qualified refunds.  The $5 fitting fee was and will not be refunded as it a fee for our services.  We bent over backwards to help this women but she seems intent to cause us undo work and harm with no compensation. Jeff B[redacted]
