Review: My vehicle was towed due to an accident on 11/18 by brown and son towing of Salem VA without permission from either owner and is drive-able. My insurance company [redacted] was paying tow bill plus 1 day storage on Friday 11/22/2013 which left a bill of $140 owed by myself to pay for which I went to pick up vehicle. The lady ([redacted]) would not release vehicle as [redacted] had not paid their part at time of pick up. When I called [redacted] again on Monday as [redacted] had told me they had until 5 pm Friday the 22 to pay her in which she would call and release vehicle. [redacted] called Brown and Son on Monday 11/25 and spoke with [redacted] who stated [redacted] did not fax back all paperwork needed namely a W9 form. To which [redacted] stated they did not receive until Tuesday 11/26. Brown and son will not accept the fact they did not perform duties to release vehicle and stated I would now owe them $280 plus any further days for storage. [redacted] will be able to help prove they did not receive paperwork needed to pay [redacted] towing is ###-###-#### my accident claim number at [redacted] is [redacted] all I want is my car back at the $140 I was trying to pay on Friday, to which they will not release per [redacted] and [redacted] at Brown and Son Can you assist me in this in any way or tell me what I need to do. Thanks [redacted]Desired Settlement: To receive the vehicle back my 2002 VW Passat Wagon with no storage fees or the storage fee that I was trying to pay on 11/22/2013 of $140

Our last communication with Mr. [redacted] was by telephone and he stated at the end of that conversation that he would have his attorney handle this matter. As stated before due to this statement this matter was forwarded to our attorney [redacted].

This business is now trying to charge in excess of $850 for the cars release after they have been paid by [redacted] insurance company. They are also making false allegations that I nor the other owner who both came to their establishment was making payment to receive car which is false as [redacted] would not release vehicle due to not having payment from [redacted] due to her error. Since they recruited an attorney he may contact myself or the other owner as well as [redacted] to see Brown and Sons employee [redacted] failed to file proper paperwork and is in file at [redacted].
