On Oct 8 requested a cancellation of insurance. It is now March and with repeated effort they have not cancelled the policy. I have been given the run around, have been lied to (even though they will deny that) and they still have failed to cancel the policy.

Client wanted to back date cancel. Carrier would not without proof of closing of the business. We sent her a cancellation form to sign, but she entered the back dated date for the cancellation. In a phone call she said we should have known to then cancel it that day. We do not ever "assume" a date someone is requesting cancellation, can we cancel a policy without the correct signed cancellation form. We were working with the carrier trying to get her policy back date cancelled, but had no success. We had emails with her letting her know this could not be done because her business was closing without proof. The carrier looked up her license and it was still in force, so they refused to back date it. Her policy has since been cancelled and she should have received, or will soon be receiving any unearned premium back from the carrier. We were not lying to her at all. She was very difficult to talk or explain anything to because she continually talked over me during our conversation on the phone. Her policy has been cancelled and there is nothing more we can do because of the carriers requirements.
