Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[redacted]...
Thank you for taking my call today.
I have additional comments/info on my complaint v. Brown Toyota...I.D. # [redacted]:

1) I know we can go round and round over all of this. The lease issue comes down to a "He said-She said".
2) My wife and I came away with a different understanding of who was going to pay off the lease. Things were fuzzy at best.
3) There are other issues that do not pass the smell test either...most of which are in Brown reply to my complaint.
4) A price/rebate was NEVER quoted to me over the internet as stated IN THE REPLY. They were quoted to me at the dealer...never on the computer.
5) Why would they say this??
6) It was always my understanding that the lease payoff was $30,381.90.
7) On multiple occasions Brown stated the payoff was $30,100.00 (including in the reply to my Revdex.com complaint.)
8) Here's where the convoluted pricing comes in: ON THE BUYER'S ORDER, I PAID THE DIFFERENCE OF $27k~ $30,381.90.
9) Brown valued the vehicle @ 27K. (BTW: Which is now on their used car sales lot at over 33K.) If the payoff was $30,100.00 (as Brown stated in the reply) I OVERPAID BY $281.90 TO GET OUT OF THE LEASE. ($30,381.90 - $30,100.00 = $281.90)
10) In addition, Brown's Revdex.com reply stated "that the sale date of 12/31/13 was an error",  and no one knows why.
11) The sale was made on 01/04/14.
12) This is a big deal. [redacted] (VA) calculates Personal Property Tax as OF OWERSHIP on January 1st. of ea. year. Since I purchased the [redacted] on Jan. 4th -  AND NOT ON 12/31/13 - I didn't own vehicle when Brown claims.
13) This 'error" will cost me (conservatively) around $400.00 in additional taxes in 2014.
14) This is Brown's fault, and compensation is needed.
15) If Brown cuts me a check for the $281.90 (see above) and the approx. $400.00 (personal property tax) because of the 'error' they admit - a total of $[redacted] - , I'll accept this check as settlement, and they will never hear from me again.

Roman';">       [redacted] came in and wanted to dispose of his sons lease on a [redacted].
2.       [redacted] gave us the following choices:
a.       Continue paying the lease payments, which would need Toyota’s approval
b.      Purchase the vehicle outright.
c.       Make a deal with Brown Toyota to get out of the lease.  This would require trading in the vehicle.
3.       We appraised the vehicle for $27,000 and it had an approximate payoff of $30,100.  The customer options at this time would be to finance the negative equity or put down additional cash.
4.       The customer states that by purchasing the [redacted] that Brown would take over the lease.  Since the vehicle is owned by [redacted], we could not take over the lease.
5.       When we quoted the price to [redacted] over the internet we gave him the price with a $500 rebate.  When he came in and asked for 0%, we told him that he could have the 0% but he couldn’t have the $500 rebate.
6.       At no time would Browns take over the lease.  The transaction had a trade allowance and a payoff.  The customer would be responsible for any negative equity.  The customer put a down payment of $6,840.  This was used to reduce the amount financed.
7.       I don’t understand the terminology “forgiving the lease”.  Someone has to pay off [redacted].  We determined that the vehicle was worth $27,000 which means the customer had to pay the difference.
8.       I cannot answer why the paperwork was date 12/31/2013.  This was an error.
[redacted] is a copy of the sales contract, worksheet that buyers order where all numbers are itemized.  Please note on the worksheet where we circled the payoff and itemized all the numbers for the customer to see.  Please also note that we reviewed the numbers with [redacted] on 3 different occasions.

Review: 1) Our son (living in NJ) was leasing a [redacted] - thur Toyota Financial. Payoff date 04/15.

2) At the beginning of this year, he took a new job (in CA). This new job offered a company car.

3) Since he didn't need the [redacted], my wife & I decided to help him out.

4) Our choices were to A) continue paying the lease payments, B) buy the vehicle outright or C) make a deal with a Toyota dealer to get out of lease.

5) I explained all this (see #4) to salesman ([redacted] & Sales Mgr. ([redacted]).

6) The payoff on the [redacted] was $30,381. [redacted] offered $27,000.

7) I said to [redacted] (and later [redacted]), if we could get out of the lease, we would consider buying a new car from them.

8) The left over [redacted] was something my wife liked.

9) During the sales process we were led to believe that by purchasing the new [redacted], Brown Toyota would A) completely take over the ( $30,381) lease, B) provide 0% financing for up to 60/mo., AND C) throw in a $500 rebate.

10) We took the deal.

11) However, when my wife & I we arrived on 1/03/14 to complete the deal and sign all the paperwork, things got interesting.

12) The first thing I noticed on the final paperwork was - NO $500.00 REBATE!!

13) They apologized by saying that the rebate is not available along with the 0% financing. This was the first time this was mentioned to me.

14) I got the feeling that the removed rebate would not have been brought up if I didn't notice the omission.

15) What I DIDN'T NOTICE was Brown didn't take over the $30,381 buyout. The final paperwork offered the 27K figure.

16) Another SNAFU was that Brown changed the $30,381 figure to $30,100. Things got heated on this, and to discuss what entirely happened here was so convoluted it,, would take more than this comment section could handle.

17) I put $6840.00 down and financed the balance w/ Toyota Financial @ 0%

18) I didn't realize until two weeks later that - my $6840.00 down payment was reduced to $3458. - because they only offered us the 27K on the [redacted].

19) In summary: [redacted] lead my wife & I to believe that Brown was forgiving the $30,381 lease, when in actuality I was holding the bag @ 27K!!

20) I know Brown has me over a barrel, because I signed all the paper work in their favor.

21) All the papers I signed were with this new auto-pen...I signed my name on a credit-card type screen - not on any physical papers. This diverted my attention, and probably prevented me noticing the discrepancy.

22) With all the $$ add-ons (Online System Filing Fees, VA Tax, Title, License, Processing Fee, Dealer Business License Tax, etc.) the numbers got into my head - confusing me on the final price.

23) In addition, I wasn't my 100% self during all this, and obviously wasn't thinking strait. On 01/08/14 I had a Total L Knee Replacement. Prior pain was an issue.

24) I was also told during the negotiating process, that I had to hurry...the 0% financing expired on the 6th. (AND I DEFINITELY WANTED TO FINALIZE THIS B/4 THE 8TH)

25) This is exactly how this all went down.

26) It is my understanding that Brown now has the [redacted] on their used Car Lot for over 33K. They definitely had room to negotiate.

27) Another thing I just noticed, on the paperwork, Brown has "Date of Sale as 12/31/13. We actually bought it on 01/03/14. Why would they do this??

28) This dealer has done some fuzzy (math) things here.Desired Settlement: Brown to adjust the amount I'm borrowing to reflect the amount I thought I negotiated in good faith.

Review: I had a diagnostic done on an [redacted] for a stuck flap . [redacted] said it was a certain part that was the issue so they gave me an estimate that was supposedly the problem so I got the work done and then I get a call saying they were trying to clock the motor for the flap that was stuck in which they said they had me replace a heater control unit that they said was the problem in which they were wrong so they tried to do something else to fix it on there own . Then I get a call saying they needed to replace another part ( Heater control Box ) that was going to cost parts and labor $2400 roughly on top of the $1500 that they said was the problem .So I told them to take the other part back out that was not the problem that I should not have to pay for a part that was bad and could afford $4000 repair so I get there to pick up the truck and they left the part in . So I had to tell them they messed up did not diagnostic it properly to return the part so they did but when I returned it for them to take the part out I told them I do not have any heat now in which I did before I had them work on it and they gave me a broken piece that the said they found after trying to clock the unit back . I really don't know what was broken but I do now . I have no heat and no control still of where the it goes but I did have heat and AC before but still no control of it in which they said the first part would fix it . On top of the whole situation I get an estimate on the parts and labor to supposedly fix everything they put $400 mark up on the part which is insanely high but they were supposedly working the labor out from $96.50 an hour to $82 but at that rate they should known what they doing so I tried to write a letter to resolve this whole thing with the service department and the owner but nobody responded to any thing I had to say .Not to also mention they broke parts putting it all back together and half way put it together .Desired Settlement: I wish for them to replace the broken part that controls the heat and also the vents that are cracked and I will pay for the labor at $82 and hour

Review: I have purchase a vehicle([redacted]on 05/25/2012 and two months later I had to have my vehicle service. On 07/25/2012,10/23/2012,03/04/2013,07/24/2013,and 08/09/2013 my vehicle had to be serviced. On 08/09/2013 I [redacted] went to Browns Toyota to find out why the airbag signal was on and why do it continue to stay on while I am driving .As I proceeded into Browns I spoke to an employee (Service Advisor)named [redacted] who stated that he need to place the vehicle on a diagnostic machine I then stated that I could not afford that service [redacted] proceeded with putting the vehicle on the diagnostic machine when the service advisor remove the vehicle from the machine he then stated what was wrong with the vehicle and how much it would cost and once again I stated I could not afford the service that was done [redacted] then stated that she cannot release my vehicle to me without payment. Now without a vehicle and stranded with my six year old son at [redacted] I had to call for a ride which don't make any sense to me when I left my home with a vehicle and return without one. I have called Browns Toyota I and have called corporate and I have not gotten a response from either.Desired Settlement: To be honest I don't want this vehicle and I do not want to have to spend another dollar in or on this vehicle. Toyota can have this vehicle bake without any penalties to me
