Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/06/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I went to Brownie Furniture on 6-1-15 and they now have the correct chair in dark brown, which I ordered, and have it on display in their showroom for other people and customers to sit on, touch and try out. I consider that a used chair now. I will not pay the full agreed upon price for a new chair when they have it as a display model. I offered to pay a discounted price for the chair they have on display, or they can order me a new one which I will only accept in it's original shipping crate. They did not respond to that offer. They still have possession of the chair plus my $700 deposit.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2015/06/19) */

Mr. John [redacted] put the chair I ordered on display on his showroom floor. That is now NOT a new chair! He has allowed customers and staff to sit in the chair and use it. I consider that a used chair. I gave him an option to order me a new chair that I will only accept in it's original shipping crate, unopened, or he can give me a discount on the floor model since I will have to have it professionally cleaned. Who knows how many germs and possible diseases have been left behind! He is being unreasonable and vindictive! I don't see how he expects me to pay the full price for a new chair and take a used one! Who does that?? Why would a reputable owner take a customer's "Special Order" and let it be used by random people? I would like him to explain WHY he would do this? He refuses to talk to me and has not returned ANY of the many calls I have made and left messages for him to call me back.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2015/07/03) */
Hello,
The chair was put on the sales floor for Ms [redacted] to view before picking up. Upon calling Ms [redacted] she told our salesperson to "loose her number and never call her again." I do not understand why Ms [redacted] will not pick up the chair that she specifically ordered or why she would make a comment like that. Now this has been going on for months and the chair waits to be picked up.......... Because the chair is on the sales floor does not make it used or compromised in any way. (Actually, I do not believe the chair has been sat in by another person) Again, Ms [redacted] is making untrue claims about Brownie Furniture and the reclining chair.
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/06/02) */
We have issued a refund to Ms. [redacted] by check, she should be receiving it via mail within the next week.
