Brown's Auto Service Reviews (3)

Thank you for your phone call and response earlier today. I have sent in a seperate email copies via cell phone camera of the invoice from Auburn Ford.  While most of the response via Browns Auto is simply too ridiculous to respond to, I'd like to mention that I was not given an opportunity to provide any proof to the company as I was told "F$ YOUR DEALERSHIP" the instant I told them that the people I took the car to said that it was nearly impossible for this to have happened by any normal circumstances.  When I brought the car in they told me they would try to bypass the alarm system as I had lost the only chipped key I had to the car while out hiking.  Not while drinking at a lake.  The owners of the establishment likely are dealing with some sort of substance abuse issue based on the response I got when bringing the damage they caused to the car to their attention.  As I previously stated, the son, [redacted], became combative and threatening, saying he would [redacted] me up" if he didn't think I was going to call the cops.  He also then claimed he would accuse me of coming into the store threatening to "beat up" everybody there.  The lack of professionalism and refusal to take responsibility for their mistakes has been absolutely abhorrent and inexcusable.[redacted], again I want to thank you for the time you've taken in helping me find a resolution to this matter, if there is any other information you wish for me to provide to you, or if you'd like me to fax the invoice over to you rather than the jpeg files, please let me know and I will do so promptly.  Have a fantastic week.

The only part of the complaint that is true is that he brought his car to us and he lost his key (he told us while drunk at the lake). When the car arrived at our shop on the tow truck, the window was smashed out because he said he locked himself out. The ignition was also literally...

broken into pieces, there was actually one little piece left in that we had to remove with pliers. He said that he tried to remove it because he had lost his key and he had gotten a ride to the parts house and purchased an ignition, He gave us the ignition to put in when he arrived and asked us to put it in for him, we told him it was only a generic ignition and that the keys provided would not be programmed to the car and he would be better off taking it back and getting his money back,he asked that we put it in anyway and try it. At the time of installing it, the after market alarm system( not factory) that was in the vehicle was completely hanging down from under the dash and looked like he had tried to remove it himself, which we assumed he did when he broke out his own window and destroyed his own ignition. We never got the car started because of the key, and what we suspected had other issues because of the condition, so we where the ones that told him to have it towed to the dealer to have it flashed and checked further. We never got the car running and it is impossible to burn out the ECM from the work we did. We also let him store it on our property at no charge for days, because he could not afford the tow.He came into our business about two months later demanding that we pay him money or else he would sue us. He said he took his car into the dealer and that the dealer said  "nothing he did was wrong but what we did was" He had no documentation from the dealer, no print out of the work that they did or what there mechanic found, he had no receipt, and when we asked what dealer it was so we could talk to them about the situation, he refused to even tell us what dealer he took it to. His exact words when I asked him what dealer it was where,"they told me not to tell you"  At the time he was demanding $800, now apparently it is up to $1200. I don't know any business owner that is going to hand over any money to someone with no proof of anything, no receipt, no way to verify anything. He came into my business demanding money under threat of lawsuit hoping I was just going to give him money to go away.  The other point I would like to make is that even if the mechanic at the dealer did tell him that, which I highly doubt, that does not mean they were right, or that they had all the facts, because they clearly did not, and just because they say it, does not mean it is so.

Review: Recently lost a chipped key, asked if they could fix the problem and was told they could. Long story short, they tried bypassing my alarm system and fried an electronic module in the car. Turns out all that needed to be done was re-key the car. When told about the damage they did [redacted] became combative and threatening. I am now being forced to take them to small claims over the 1200 dollars in damage they did to the car.Desired Settlement: To pay for the damage they did to my vehicle.
