Browns Jaguar Reviews (2)

Review: I purchased a 2[redacted]arch 29, 2016 and I have yet to receive the title and registration for the vehicle. I have called and contacted the dealership several times and they constantly assured me that they were taking care of it. I was issued a second set of temp tags and registration at the beginning of June . June 27th, I still have nothing. I can't seem to get any answers as to why I don't have the title and tags to the vehicle. I was issued a citation for operating an unregistered vehicle. My local MVA has threaten to suspend registration on the [redacted] I traded in, because there records indicate that I still own the car I traded in on March 29th. My credit union has threatened to revoke my loan because they have not received the title to the car in question. This is absolutely ridiculous that a dealership can't seem to complete a task which is to done with every vehicle that is purchased. I had to submit all of the needed information to the different agencies because Brown's Jaguar failed to do so even though they charge a $599 processing fee for these matters.Desired Settlement: At this point I feel I should be refunded my $599 processing fee. In addition to my title/tags and registration.

Thank you for listening to the issue of one of Brown's customers. We use a third party company, [redacted], to perform our out-of-state DMV. We acknowledge that there were initial delays with Mrs. [redacted] work and Brown's has provided to ATC , with Mrs. Garrison's assistance. We did communicate to Mrs. [redacted] last week that there seems be be an outstanding issue with the state of Maryland DMV preventing the registration and tag work to be completed. Maryland will not share with us the nature of the "stop". ATC was able complete the "title only" work, which was sent to Mrs. [redacted] on 6/29/16 and signed by Mrs. [redacted] on 6/30/16 with a letter stating such (see attachment). During the course of our communication with Mrs. [redacted], we indicated that she would have to go the Maryland DMV to clear up any outstanding issues so that the registration and tags can be issued. Please feel free to contact me should you need anything further. Thank you,Mark S[redacted]

Review: I was brought into the dealership under false pretenses. The website ad for the car listed an upgraded [redacted] sound system, which was an appealing selling point. When I arrived to see the car, I saw that this option was not actually on the car. And this is not a common option, so listing it in the ad could not be explained by a routine error. This was false advertising.

I received a copy of the inspection report from when the car first arrived at the dealership, showing what was done to recondition the car. On this report was a line item noting “Ultracolor.” When I asked the salesman if this meant that the car’s paint had been touched up, I was told ‘no, Ultracolor doesn’t even do paint work, they touch up the interior of the cars. So no, the car’s paint hasn’t been touched up at all.’ This was, of course, inaccurate, as I learned later that the car’s paint had in fact been touched up.

On the same original inspection report, I noticed that a CPO inspection had been performed when the car arrived, on March 18. Since I wanted to know if the car was CPO eligible, I asked to see that attached report. I was told that the report could not be found, so another CPO inspection would be performed the following day, April 26. On that day I was emailed a copy of a CPO inspection, with the date March 18. This seemed odd to me, as I was told that the inspection was being performed that morning. When I asked about this, the salesman as well as the manager explained to me that the inspection had in fact been done that morning, April 26, and the date on the report had been entered as March 18 because they thought that was better, since that was when the car originally came in. I told them that this act of falsifying the report is fraud, to which they responded that they have to alter these things sometimes. I was told flat out that they were okay with committing fraud.Desired Settlement: I want the employees who were responsible for false advertising and complicit in fraudulent activities to be held accountable for their actions.

Thank you for listening to the concerns of one of our customers. Mr. [redacted] has expressed concern with the vehicle description on the website, work performed (paint work), and CPO eligibility. There is a lot of equipment on vehicles now and we make sure that every effort is place to ensure proper listing of equipment on the website. We place a disclaimer on our website stating that as well (see below). We did perform a CPO inspection on the car on 3.18.16, please see attachment, prior to Mr. [redacted]'s purchase. I apologize if there was confusion about that. We reviewed the Carfax report and did not see any accidents and I'm unclear if that what was referenced for paint work. Please feel free to contact us should you have further questions. We make every effort to provide accurate information, but please verify options and price before purchasing. Brown's Car Stores are not responsible for errors or omissions. All vehicles are subject to prior sale. Quoted price available on in-stock units only.? All prices are special internet prices only. All financing is subject to approved credit through dealer designated lender. Please call/email/send a request for vehicle availability and to schedule a test drive. Thank you,[redacted]
