Brown's Mobile Mechanics

I was having battery problems Sunday morning, July 20. A friend helped me jump it started and I went from where I was directly to [redacted] to have the battery checked out. When I arrived inside the store, a man in a black dress shirt and tie offered to look up whatever I was needing. He informed me he didn't work for [redacted], but that he could help. I told him about the battery and he and his young assistant offered to remove my battery and check it. I did not have my tools with me so I went along with this. He gave me his 'card' which was a magnetic ad with his phone number on it. On the magnetic ad are the words "Brown's Mobile Mechanic" a phone number, and a list of the services they provide. He said he could get me 'his discount'. The man's name is apparently [redacted] Brown according to his young assistant. The man used [redacted]'s battery tester and showed me where it said, "Bad Battery". I was somewhat relieved, as I figured this was the problem and wanted to make sure I have a reliable battery in my car. He went to the back of the store, got a battery. He then took my debit card to charge it out. Instead of going to the cash registers, he went to the back of the store. This made me a little suspicious but he came back after a few minutes and told me we could go to a ATM machine and do cash. I did not want to leave with him, but I had enough cash to pay the $135 for the battery. The young assistant and I went to the car and installed the battery. I went back to get a receipt and he told me I was free to go. I said, I needed a receipt so he asked [redacted] about making a copy, then just gave me HIS receipt. I checked the total and it matched the amount I had paid. When I got home I looked closer at the receipt and it had a "pressure hose" charge on it for $18.99. I tried to look up the retail for this battery on line but wound up calling the store. A man named, I believe, [redacted], told me that they had gotten complaints about this guy and that he did not let him charge my card.Product_Or_Service: Car batteryDesired SettlementThe [redacted] employee I spoke with on the phone encouraged me to report this incident. He said the man keeps coming in there and that there was nothing he could do about him right now, but said I should probably also take action with my bank on the debit card which had been compromised. I believe this man is defrauding people and will continue to defraud people. He tries to appear to be helping out [redacted] yet as one of their customers. What I desire is to put a stop to what he is doing.
