Failure to provide written receipt for $12,000 and stated 10 year warranty on roofMr Brown put a roof on my house and outside building in May 2014 for $12,000. He stated that the roof has a 10 year warranty and he would send me the written warranty when he returned to the office. I also requested a written receipt for the $12,000 and he stated that he would send that also. I have contacted him over a dozen times since that time and he always says that he will do it right away. My lawyer sent him a letter requesting the items on Feb. 25, 2015 and he signed for the letter himself and still has not responded. I paid him promptly and expect the same consideration. He also did not come to check out the problem when I called him about the down spout on the gutter not draining. I had to hire another roofer to fix the problem which was roofing material clogging the down spout. I would appreciate help resolving this issue.Desired SettlementI want to receive the written 10 year warranty and a receipt for the $12,000

Greatly disappointed!I called [redacted] to roof our home, because he had done a job for the church in the late 1990's. By all means, he did a good job there. However, it turns out that this was not the [redacted] I had known earlier. He bragged about many things including his experience, the quality of his work, and that he was the best man for the job. In addition, he rolled-off a long list of people that he had worked for including mayors, etc. As agreed, we paid him 1/2 up front, and the rest when the job was done. It should have been a "red flag" when he wanted the first check made out to his company and the second check to him directly. The job was started in mid-April because we wanted to get the house on the market, but it remains undone nearly 6 weeks later. The chimney that remains unpainted today stands out like a sore thumb! We asked for an itemized bill, and his response was "sure thing." Nothing to date. I have called 4-or-more times to check on when the chimney will get painted, and his response seems to always be the same..."this week when the rain stops and the weather's not as hot." Not as hot...come on, the he's are roofers! More, the realtor has called him several times and she gets the same response...next week! Still, there are two things that are the most disheartening about this whole situation. First, I took him at his word that he would do the complete job and make the house look good. In fact, we shook hands in the front yard of that very house to seal-the-deal. Above all else, what is most disheartening about this whole thing is this...not only did I officiate at his wedding but I was also his minister for over 5 years! Come on, [redacted]Desired SettlementFor starters, the chimney painted, itemized list of things that have been completed, and an apology to the realtor and us.Business Response /[redacted]/As of today, June 6, 2014, we have met with Mr.[redacted] and have completed the the painting and fully finished the contract. Sorry for the inconvenience and delay of completion. Thank you Mr. [redacted] for allowing us to complete the painting and we hope that you are now satified with our work. Consumer Response /[redacted]/The circus continues! For starters, Mr. [redacted] says that has he "met" with us. When? Where? Which also means that we have not viewed the "completed" painting. Finally, how can he say the contract is fully finished when we do not have a copy of the contract?Final Business Response /[redacted]/Contract/invoice attached.

We have tried for three weeks to get [redacted] to provide us with an itemized bill of sale.He has failed to provide receipts and a list of items usedWe hired Browns Reconstruction for a roof leak at our house. We were told we would get a written estimate and a final bill of sales with all the receipts. Received a estimate but have not received any receipts or final bill of sales. After him avoiding our calls and text we finally got him to answer a text after many attempts. [redacted] agreed to bring the receipts and bill of sales one week ago, which he has not shown up for yet, and he is avoiding our calls and text again. Last we heard from [redacted] he told my wife he did not give bill of sales, that was "not the way he rolled". We paid Browns Reconstruction as soon as he said he needed a check, three checks given immediately. We held up to our word and responsibilities [redacted] should also. Please help us in this matter.Desired SettlementWe simply want a bill of sale and our receipts. [redacted] told my wife that he would have to go to Lowes and get copies because he misplaced them. Asking for receipts for the larger purchases, door, plywood, storm door, gutters, paint, and the list goes on. What business does not offer a receipt?????Business Response /[redacted]/Business states he will have the receipt to this customer by December 26th. He has been out of town on a job. Consumer Response /[redacted]/Did not realize that there was more to fill out. I thought my e-mail s was all there was left to do. But I never have herd from [redacted] he has not attempted to do anything to get us our receipts, it is obvious he does not care what the Revdex.com thinks or we think. He does not do good work and he over charges. He was also late everyday from what times he said he would be there. I hope you help protect the potential consumers from this dishonest person! Final Business Response /[redacted]/Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is far from being the itemized receipt that we were promised to get back on December 26th. He promised us that he would price each and every thing he did to our house that he had the receipts for all of it. Also he told us that we did not pay for flue pipe he tore up on our water heater that he would pay for it since it was his fault and we were without hot water for four days. On our email response he had this invoice listed as invoice #3, which we don't understand because we never saw invoices 1 or 2. I have also had contractors over that said the over hang he put on our house is not secure and strong winds will probably take it down. I hope all of this gets posted to help other people from making the same mistake I did and not use Brown Reconstruction. I grade them a F.

Contractor did not complete work that was paid forThe contractor performed admirably in replacing my roof and painting large areas of my house, but all the painting was not finished and they were supposed to replace a front column as well. This was not done. Because they had done such good work in a timely manner - and they promised to return shortly - I paid for the project in full. That was a year ago and I have had several phone conversations wherein a promise to get it done was forthcoming every time. Nothing happened.Desired SettlementEither do the work pronto or refund $500.
