Review: I sent a payment of $575.00 payable to BruceMoose.com on Oct 23 2013. The payment was to be applied as $100 for credit and background check and $475.00 to hold their rental property known as Hikers Haven. The check was cashed on Oct 25th. In an email dated Oct 28th, one the owners stated that they were not comfortable renting the Hikers Haven and offered to rent the Bears Den. Since we could not come to agreement on the terms of the lease by Oct 31, I communicated to the owner via email that we were still undecided on renting the Bears Den and requested the deposit of $475 be returned. On Nov. 1st, the owner emailed back a response that he would not refund the deposit, and assumed I was not renting Bears Den. I have tried repeatedly to work this out. I offered two alternatives. BruceMoose.com did not respond to any of my communications or offerings. I asked that he respond by CoB on Nov 1st. 2013 He did not. By stating his assumption that we were not renting and stopping communications, it shows that BruceMoose.com has decided to not rent either property to us, while trying to keep the deposit. BruceMoose.Com has ending the business deal and is trying to keep the deposit. I feel that I am entitled to the full deposit for the following reasons.1) It was never communicated to me verbally or written, that the deposit was non-refundable.2) The BruceMoose.com web site does not list a practice of accepting any deposit (refundable or non-refundable) for holding a property in the detailed list of rental procedure or anywhere else on the website.3) The deposit was for the Hiker's Haven property. Not the Bear's Den Property.4) On Oct 28th, Bruce communicated that they were not comfortable renting Hiker's Haven to us, because of its size and offered to rent Bear's Den at a higher price. The deposit should have been returned then.5) BruceMoose has decided to not rent either property to us and ended all communications on this leasing arrangement on their own accord.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $475 deposit for the original property.

Thank you for your letter dated November the 4th. I called your office, and left a message in your voicemail.

[redacted]'s complaint is deliberately misleading and revisionist. Nonetheless, we issued a refund in full last week - before he filed his complaint.

Since [redacted] has already received a full refund of his non-refundable deposit, then filed a complaint, it appears that he is attempting to abuse the complaint process.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to let us know. Otherwise, we consider the matter closed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Please communicate to the business owner that the complaint was filed before his wife contacted me and agreed to refund the deposit.
