Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
Everything this man has said is a lieFrom the get go we agreed on windstorm windowsIn addition to the first sales pitch, another sales pitch was made when the contract was signed in March with witnesses that can testify to thatThis man has threatened my family with voicemails that he will put a lien on my house if I do not take off this Revdex.com complaintHe has threatened my inspector that he will get his license revoked through the stateThis business owner lives apx miles from my house, also in Brazoria County and is VERY aware that we required windstorm windowsThe windows that he replaced were already grandfathered in to the Windstorm policy so why would I go put windows that are not approved? The man either plays dumb to try and scam people or really doesn't know this business at allOn one of my windows (even if I only wanted "standard" windows) there was screws holding it in placeThank God the inspector did come out or I could simply place a small amount of pressure on the window and it would come right outI have texts, emails, and voicemails from the owner of this company "Jack" John E*** that are very rude and threatening and I have already called the sheriff out to file a report of both harassment and fraudAll of these threats would go away if I would just take down my Revdex.com complaint that I have in writing from the owner of the company! It has been agreed upon since day 1, that "Jack" does not provide the WPIcertificate, but that he did know an inspector that would come certify them for meThat didn't happenI found my own post-construction inspectors and he even talked to the first that all said the windows wouldn't passHe was very rude and belligerent to those inspectors telling them that the windows will pass and they are full of B.SWell obviously, the windows won't pass because they aren't windstorm windows, which are what I purchased, so I thoughtYes, in Brazoria County a higher DP rating is required for the insurance I need, BUT they do NOT have to be impact windows unless you reside in Galveston County as Jack claimsHe is very incompetent regarding this business as I have educated myself of the entire process of which windows will and will not pass as well as proper installation per code of ***--also which he has never heard ofPer the current inspector, *** ***, it is required by the state of Texas to have a product evaluation sheet on the job site the entire time the windows are being installedAgain, Jack had never heard of this when he spoke with *** on the phone*** came out the first time and said these windows won't pass because of the screw pattern and talked with Jack on the phoneJack agreed to come back out the next day and "fix" it*** came out days later to re-inspect only to tell me that this was "bad to worse" and that "out of all his years of doing this, this is the worst installation he has ever seen." We called Jack againHe began to scream, cuss, and talk over youI hired a different installer to come place the screw pattern correctly*** came out again and the screw pattern was acceptedShortly after, it was brought up that the tags on the windows do not match and that only out of the windows are actually windstorm windowsThe very first day, he took a picture of the tag of the first window he walked byThat happened to be one the windstorm approved windows, so the assumption was all the windows would be the sameWhy wouldn't they be? No, Jack purchased and installed all different windows for the entire houseSome *** ***, some *** ***, and some *** seriesLong story short, we agreed on windstorm windows and that I would obtain my own certificate from my own inspectorI fulfilled my endHe came really, really short on his endI should have read the complaints before I ever signed a contract with this companyI gave Jack the option to pay me quietly $(the price of the inspector, the window installer to come fix his work after attempts of him trying, and the time and effort I have put into fixing his screw up) or I would take this to the news station and then small claims court and let the city of Houston decide if he had done professional workHe didn't take option and doesn't want to be "humiliated and have his name slandered" on option Well the way I look at it, if you did professional work then this would actually give him more business and I would be the one looking humiliatedHe knows that he messed up because he and my husband had phone conversations (the day that he threatened a lien on my house and that I would be hearing from his attorney), where he said that he would come back and "fix" it for the third time and bring and inspector with him that would certify themHow in the world are you going to bring an inspector with you to certify them knowing that these windows are standard and the screw pattern required by *** doesn't matter? I regret ever trying to keep my business local and use a smaller company than just paying the extra $with another company that insured and reputable that do provide the WPIcertificateThe reason is was cheaper is because "less over head, I install everything myself," which made senseI didn't actually know that he was going to screw me over and call me an "unprofessional kid" at the same timePerhaps he thought this whole time is that I was an "unprofessional kid" and he could pull a fast one on mePositive note is that *** ***, PE will not be in trouble with the state no matter what Jack *** threatens to do and I will not get in "big trouble" with the state for the "crime" that he alleges I have committed when he "turns me in to the state." Also, the city of Houston will know to do their due diligence before signing a contract with any window company, but especially Triple R Doors and Windows

In response to this complaint, I met with Mrs. [redacted], who wanted a particular style of doors across the back of her house.  She was having trouble finding contractors who would work with her (and now I see why).  She showed me many pictures of what she wanted, of which I had I ordered and...

installed for other customers before, so I knew that this style was quite expensive.  The pictures she showed me were around $15,000 doors.  I told her I could come up with a way to do it so it would not be so expensive, but would give her the desired look she wanted.  She agreed and we contracted the work on October 14th. She was not present when the contract signed by her husband.  I explained the process to him, that  I would order 2 sets of custom french doors and 1 single door that would fit her measurements from my door vendor. It would take up to two weeks (10 business days) to have the vendor make the custom order. Then, when the doors came in, I would call them to set up an install date. Mr. [redacted] paid me the total cost of the materials for the order and the balance would be due after the installation, which is our normal manner of doing business for custom doors. There was a issue with the check being returned, as Mr. [redacted] told me to hold the check and not deposit it until Friday, October 16th.  Since I had another installation early on Friday, I would not have time to deposit on Friday, so I deposited late Thursday afternoon after 5:00 pm, thinking it would not actually be processed until Friday morning, but they processed it that day anyway, which was my mistake.    We got that all straightened out and I agreed to pay the [redacted]'s overdraft fee by deducting it from the final balance.  It was not done maliciously or on purpose. I ordered the custom unit from my vendor on Monday, October 19, 2015.  One week and one day, after placing the order (October 27th), I got a text from Mrs. [redacted] asking for an update on the order.  I told her we were still waiting for the order to be built, and I would call her when the doors were ready.  She wanted an estimated date they would be finished and then demanded to speak to the manager of my vendor to get the answer. She said she just wanted to cancel everything and get her money back.  I told her this was a custom order and could not be cancelled and she could not receive a refund.  The doors were ready on Monday, November 2.  I called her that day  to tell her the doors were ready and I would be calling her to set up an install date for that week.  She did not want to wait for an install date.  She wanted me to pick them up and then immediately come to her house to install them that day.  I told her it did not work that way. These doors would take a couple of days to install.  I have daily installs already set up for other customer and I would have to set up her date. This was not acceptable to her.   I did deliver the ordered materials to their home on Tuesday, November 3.  Of course, she did not like them and wanted them changed.  I told her I would get them changed to be what she wanted.  I was working with the vendor to see what could be done, but she didn't want to wait for a solution.  She then began a barrage of  phone calls and harrassing texts while I was on another installation that day. She threatened to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and then she would go to the media.  She would not listen to reason. Most custom orders take 6 to 8 weeks to be built.  This one only took 2 weeks, which was extremely fast. A custom order is a process that should be done with precision and working out the best way to make it look like a $15,000 unit, that costs a fraction of that.   I called and spoke with her husband who completely understood and said to talk to him only and don't talk to her anymore about it, he would handle it.  Mr. [redacted] was extremely understanding and reasonable to work with.  I explained that I would work with the vendor to get everything right and they would be very happy with the final product. But before anything could be settled and worked out, she filed this complaint, which stopped the whole process.  She has in her possession what she paid for.  I was perfectly willing to do what it took to make her happy.   I install hundreds of custom doors with very happy customers. I do not want unhappy customers at any time.  Mrs. [redacted] never gave the process a chance.  She started demanding and harrassing the first week before the units were ever even finished.  There are no refunds on custom orders. Respectfully,Jack RocksTriple R Doors & Windows

Regards,

This complaint is based on a misunderstanding between Triple R Doors & Windows and the customer.  We were unaware that the customer wanted to obtain a WPI-8 certificate at the time of the sale.  We became aware of it after the windows were purchased and installed, when the customer...

started asking about an inspector.  The windows they purchased were windstorm approved for Harris County, but not for Brazoria County, where impact DP-rated windows are required to obtain a windstorm certificate and receive an insurance discount for same. The customer did not specify they needed impact windows and in fact, stated they they didn't want that because of the cost. They had already had a complete presentation from [redacted] and they determined the cost was too high. Therefore, under the assumption that they wanted "standard" windows, the windows were ordered and installed as "standard" windows.  We were then called back because the windows did not, of course, pass the windstorm inspection.  It is customary for homeowners to contact their insurance company before they purchase windows to determine the type of windows they need to order for certification and set up the inspection for after the windows are installed.  This customer did not do that and therefore, the windows did not pass. They became angry and wanted to blame us for their mishandling of the situation.  So, in an attempt to help them, we returned to re-do the screw pattern on the windows to attempt to pass the inspection.  The windows failed once again.  We feel the customer, in an effort to save money, tried to go around the system by purchasing cheaper windows and then attempted to get their insurance discount after-the-fact.  If we had been aware that impact windows were desired, we would have ordered and installed impact windows to accommodate the windstorm certificate, as we have done many times before with other customers.  It was not our intention to mislead them or rip them off in any way. We would have been happy to sell them the correct windows had we known.  Customers in Brazoria County may purchase any type of windows they wish.  We have since learned that the customer has obtained their WPI-8 certificate with the same windows we installed for them.

This customer was building a new home on their own property in a rural area.  They ordered the door from us  in February and the door was ordered.  There is a certain time during construction that a beautiful, Mahogany front door can be installed so that it does not get ruined while...

the home is being finished.  The  house was not ready for the door to be put in until May.  The home was located in an area outside our usual working area.  The area around the home was a construction zone and extremely muddy due to all the rain we have had this year.  The job was estimated as a one day job due to the travel time involved.  The door was delivered and then installed.  The holes were not cut for the door hardware because the customer did not have the hardware available to measure so we could cut and install.  The door was fit to the opening and the exterior trim was installed to perfection.  The customer was asked to inspect the door and approve the work that had been done, which they did.  The job could not be completed because the sheetrock had not been installed in the interior to complete the trimwork. The crew even waited for an hour and a half for the sheetrock team to show up to possibly finish the work. The job would have been completed that day  if the sheetrock had been there. It is not Triple R Doors & Windows' fault that the customer was not ready for the complete installation.  So, the door had to be removed and carried out and stored in a warehouse on the property and we had to install a piece of plywood over the opening until the sheetrock could be finished.  The customer was told that we would be back out to complete the work once the sheetrock was finished, but later asked for an additional cost to cover the additional day and the travel expenses due to their contractors' delay.   The customer did continually ask for pictures of the door and  repeated, repeated requests that the door be installed way before it was time for it to be done.  Triple R Doors & Windows installs hundreds of doors and has a 99% approval rating from customers.  Our quality and workmanship are excellent.  We give a good product and excellent workmanship for a minimal price.  Our prices are such that we cannot do extra, unexpected work without additional cost because our margins are so low already.  We regret that these customers cannot appreciate the discount they got on their beautiful new door and refuse to pay just a little additional money so that we could have finished the work. They would have been very happy with the outcome.  It is a sad day that because our company cannot provide free labor and travel time due to a customer's untimely situation, we have to suffer slanderous remarks on a public forum for it. Respectfully,Jack R[redacted], Triple R Doors & Windows
