I am working with the Police Dept and we are trying to find as many folks as possible to join us in prosecuting Gary and Vicki Brummett on Felony charges. We need to put a stop to this scamming once a for all.
Review: I hired Mr. Brummett & his crew to trim trees in my yard & we agreed on a price of $1955. We both signed his proposal, and I gave him a $300 down payment, with balance due at job completion at day's end, 8/12/15. His crew completed about three quarters of the proposed work, & then Brummett said that they had to leave, but would be back to finish the job later that day (8/12) or early the next (8/13). He asked for the balance of the money ($1,655) and I foolishly gave him a check. Later in the day (8/12) he returned alone, saying that they could not complete the work because "the axle on my truck broke," and he desperately needed to borrow $200 to have his truck towed to a repair shop. He "promised" to repay me the next day. Feeling sorry for him, I, again foolishly, gave him a $200 check as a "loan," & he departed, promising me that he & his crew would return the next day (8/13) to complete the job & repay the $200 loan. Neither he nor his crew has returned as of this date (8/17), and he has ignored my repeated phone calls/voice messages to his phone numbers (571-264-0908, 540-547-4626, 703-398-6112). In fact, he only answered his phone one time, & then quickly hung up when I mentioned my name; I have him left at least one voice mail per day, to no avail.In my estimation, he owes me $500 for the UNcompleted work in his signed proposal, & $200 for the "broken-axle" loan. Clearly I should have been more scrupulous & checked for references, but that is water under the bridge, I am sad to say. He told me that his wife's father is a "Vietnam Vet," as I am, and I guess that tale clouded my judgment. I have told him, in my voice messages, that, if I do not get the funds owed to me, I will pursue the matter via Small Claims Court. I have the cancelled checks for the above transactions, his signed work proposal, & his voice mail to me saying he would complete the work by 8/13. I would appreciate your advice as to how to proceed. Gratefully, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I no longer trust Mr. Brummett and his "promises." He owes me $500 for the Uncompleted work in his signed proposal, as well as $200 for my loan to him, for the alleged "broken axle" on his truck -- a total of $700.

I just got ripped off by the same guy, gary brummett. Gave him a deposit to cut trees on Dec 1st 2016 and he never came back to complete any work.
Please send me and email and let me know if you have filed any claims or know where this guy lives.
