Bruner Plumbing, Inc Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meI received the check and am happy to say this situation was resolved. Sincerely, *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
After installing the garbage disposal, they did run water through the unit to make sure that it didn't leak, but they did not test the dishwasher, which they disconnected from the old drain and attached to the garbage disposal.
Continuing to insist the line wasn't coupled correctly simply defies reasonThe dishwasher had been in place and used continuously for over a decade without the drainage line breaking or leaking in any wayIt was only once the gentleman from Bruner pluming pulled the line to attach it into the garbage disposal (which required a few more inches than the previous drain pipe) that the connection was pulled apart.
Furthermore, talking with the licensed plumber who came to run a new drain line to the dishwasher, the practice of connecting an extension hose to the one included with the dishwasher is not unheard of in situations where a longer run is necessary.
Regarding the water damage, the garbage disposal was installed on a Thursday but the dishwasher wasn't run until 11pm on SaturdayIf I had called Bruner plumbing, my reasonable expectation would be to not hear back from them until Monday morningThere was a considerable amount of water that had flooded through the kitchen floor and into the basement, and I felt it warranted immediate professional attention
I therefore called a very reputable hour restoration company, ***, who arrived hours laterThey took moisture readings around the kitchen cabinets and tiled floor, and set up two industrial dehumidifiersOur kitchen floor has several layers of subflooring beneath the tile, so it took full days of these dehumidifiers running non-stop for the floors to completely dry out.
Having had this experience, it’s absurd to say "a space heater and fan" would have adequately dried the floorWe would have had no way of knowing when the layers of subfloor under the tiles were actually dry, which could have lead to long-term damage to the house and/or mold.
The bottom line is there was nothing wrong or inadequate about the pre-existing plumbing and my decision to call a professional, reputable restoration company to ensure it was properly cleaned up was sound.
I’m not trying to hold Bruner Plumbing responsible for the pre-existing plumbing, I’m trying to hold them responsible for breaking it.
Sincerely,
*** ***

In retrospect, we should have tested the dishwasherDrain hoses don't improve with ageand regardless of how this one was coupled together, it needed to be replacedSince thatdidn't happen on our watch we are sending *** a check for the full amountrequested.Sincerely,
Vickie MB***, Treasurer

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. Our loyal customer base spans decadesbecause we do our best to take care of people in a timely, knowledgeable, professionalmanner. We were hired to install a garbage disposal for Mr. [redacted]. Our installation was doneaccording to code, we tested the...

work, and we would have warranted that work if thedisposal had leaked. Whoever installed the dishwasher in its remote location ran the linebehind the cabinets so it was out of sight from where we were working. Apparently theline wasn't coupled correctly but we had no way of knowing the connection was faulty.Mr. [redacted] informed us about the water spill after he hired a restoration company. If wehad known sooner, we would have advised him. to dry out the area with a space heaterand fan. Our experience with one-time water events is that they dry out fairly quickly. While the water spill was unfortunate, we think it's unreasonable to hold us responsible.for the condition of the pre-existing plumbing.Sincerely,
Ward *. B[redacted], President
