Review: On March 15, 2014, I took my 2012 (for reference only) tax forms and 2013 tax information to [redacted] Brunk, CPA (in Roanoke , VA). I introduced myself and asked him if he would do my 2013 taxes. He stated yes and I considered this an oral contract. After several phone calls in late March and early April he repeatedly said the taxes were in progress. On April 4, I entered his office and ask for the status. He said they were done, but could not print them due to computer problems. I said I would like my tax information from 2012 and 2013 returned to me. He stated all of the papers had been lost. I returned to his office on April 15 to collect my paper work and my 2013 completed taxes. He repeated he could not find them and that the 2013 tax forms filled with the IRS, but the forms were not available to me. Several times I made appointments to meet him in his office, but he was never at the office when I showed up. I reported to the IRS office on May 8 and told them I had to file IRS and Virginia late. I spend the next month making phone calls and getting copies of tax documents sent to me. Late charges and penalties for US Treasury was $63.33. Since no service was provided, no payment was made to Mr. Brunk.Desired Settlement: Restitution for IRS late fee.
