Bruno Air Conditioning Reviews (16)

I live in Louisville, KY but own a rental condo in Bonita SpringsMy renter called to tell me that the AC wasn't cooling properlyI went online and contacted Bruno Air to make a service call on the unitThey were very courteous and responded quicklyAfter checking the unit, their technician called me to advise that it was only a clogged condensation lineThey could have told me almost anything and I would have had no choice but to have them perform whatever they told me was the problemI was thinking the worst, but when they told me that only $would be charged, I must admit I was somewhat shocked! To send out a trained technician in a company truck, with health, auto, comp, liability insurance, and fuel cost was incredibly fairTheir honesty and integrity has absolutely guaranteed that the next time I, or anyone else I know, have a problem with their HVAC equipment, I will call or recommend Bruno Air

Do not fall for their radio show special scamThey really don't do much of anything that does need in any kind of deep cleaningThey put together a detailed invoice and tell you how much it's going to costVery little they promise to clean is actually cleaned without a surchargeThen they will give you an estimate of all the things that need to be done on your air conditioningI went to three other places and the cost was less than one-third of what Bruno said it would costThey also padded things that did not need to be done or were duplicate of what they said they were going to doStay away from these fraudsYou can find better service and better prices almost anywhere ....beware!

We had this company inspect the air conditioner in our condo in DecThe technicians, Ronaldo and Jerry were thorough in both the analysis of the cooling system and in explaining their findings to us in very easy to understand terms We appreciate very much their professionalism and the company's quick response to our needs

I used Bruno to install a new air condition in my Naples Florida condo in 01/21/
From the begining , I found out that the installation was poorly done with technician who had no education or training , I have to call more than times for a permit to inspect , not until months later a country inspector came after forcing bruno to get a permit
With the new air condition, mold was found later when the installer did lousy job , We were loosing air in the attic , due to bad work to seel the tubesRegular maontance was a nightmare , technician came and release the gas , so I can pay him $ to add gas and add due to test for leak doesn't,t exist

It is no surprise to me that this company is not on the Revdex.comThis was the worst experience we have every had with a vendor We went with because the price was less then competitors and that was a huge mistake! When the service technicians arrived they were unaware that they would need a lift to install our new ACIt was downhill from thereWe purchased the UV light as well as a filter for the main AC to avoid putting filters in the rest of the house Those parts were not delivered with the compressor and the ACWe were told that the driver would go pick them up and be right backHe did not return for hours and did not return any of the phone calls that were madeThe technicians were waiting in my garage to complete the workMy husband and I called the marketing representative that wrote up our quote, the managers (Nick), and a COO showed up at our house claiming that he would fix itAfter we talked, I went inside my house and when I came out he was goneThe driver then returned with the parts hours later and with a lift to install the ACThe lift was broken and the technician stated "I hope they don't bring me the broken lift." The driver left and they were still unable to work The technician had to call another service technician in Naples (who was not assigned to work on our project), and ask him to come over and deliver the liftHe arrived at 5pmThe technicians came at 8:30am to installAlthough the technicians did their part, the AC was not back and running until 10:30pmTotally unacceptableNone of the managers took any responsibility and simply stated that they had asked the driver to go to another assignmentNice, that they did that while we were all waiting for them to fix their mistakes at our houseIt was terrible and I strongly DO NOT recommend this company to anyone!!

CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!
I recently took advantage of Bruno's advertised $cleaning and review of my systemBeing a property manager for a large estate locally, I'm fully aware of system issues and particularly A/C problems Upon arriving I informed the tech that my system is running just fine and I'm aware of a few items that needed addressed with it so please don't try to sell me on things I don't need
After about hours of being at my house on a service that could've been completed in an hour or so if the tech wasn't constantly on his phone he brings me my blower, hands it to me and says "this is really dirty, do you want me to clean it?" Since I thought this was part of their 5star service and point inspection, him asking me smelled of additional cost The cost to clean it??? $230! My other option was to clean it with an air compressor I had in my garage myself for free which I did I was then told my start up capacitor is not running at full capacity The cost to replace??? $230!!!! Folks, contractor cost on a capacitor is literally $and takes LITERALLY less than minutes to replace! I just purchased the capacitor on my own off amazon for $7.55! I was THEN told my airflow isn't up to par I "must be low on gas" The cost to top my system off???$230!!!!! and this was up to lbs of Freon What if I only need half a pound, I asked, I still have to pay $230? EVERYTHING THAT WAS RECOMMENDED I DO COST $Plain and simple, Bruno Air, now Bruno air, electric and plumbing, is nothing more than your run of the mill commissioned tech/salespeople who off a low cost general service and then once in your home will try and scare you into things you don't need Not different than most A/C companies in Naples/FtMyers at all! By the way, I have a good friend in the A/C business who checked out my system after Bruno left The cause of my airflow issue??? A dirty coil which he pulled and cleaned and everything is balanced and works perfectly! DON'T FALL FOR THE BRUNO SCAM! Be SMART a GREAT NON COMMISSIONED company is Air Naples!!! The owner is fantastic, honest and his techs don't work on commission

Save your time, money and frustration and DO NOT hire this companyThey sold me a defective air conditioning systemBruno Air talked me into buying a new $8,system for my homeI didn't want to, but they insisted it was the best thing to doThe condenser unit outside is so loud I cannot sleep at night and my roommate has moved out due to the noiseOne technician came and said he cannot fix itOn another day a technician came to fix the problem and spent the entire day, on this brand new system, but still could not fix itThey decided to do a band aid job and put a "jacket" on it to muffle the sound a bit, but the noise still persistsIt is driving me crazy! I have similar units at other properties and none of them make this horrendous noiseI used a decibel meter to compare other systems to minesystems range between and decibelsThe unit they installed at my house is over decibelsFor $8,I expect an air conditioning unit that doesn't keep myself and the neighbors awake at nightI am still trying to resolve the issue but the only recourse would be to replace it with a properly functioning unit and they refuse to do itI have lost much sleep, money and work days to be at the property for them to fix a brand new system that is far from the quality I expect and deserve considering the costThe stress is unbearableI have also lost the rent from my roommate who moved out due to the problems with this systemIt is useful to note that Bruno Air Conditioning lost their Revdex.com accreditation due to the number of customer complaintsThe customer service people were very nice and helpful at first but now I am being completely ignoredAs part of the purchase agreement they are to provide me with years of "free" service (that I actually paid for through the exaggerated price so it isn't actually free)I have no confidence whatsoever that they will be able to provide competent service

I called Bruno Air in a PANIC because my unit was overflowing and my husband was out of town. I didnt know what to do! Thankfully Bruno Air sent a tech within 30 minutes that was in my area and stopped the leak! A few short hours later I had options to avoid this issue in the future and to improve some other aspects in my home I didnt even think of! Thanks Bruno, I will be calling again!

I have a wonderful new air conditioner from Bruno. They were truthful and did a great job. Several of my friends and neighbors also used Bruno Air.

I live in Louisville, KY but own a rental condo in Bonita Springs. My renter called to tell me that the AC wasn't cooling properly. I went online and contacted Bruno Air to make a service call on the unit. They were very courteous and responded quickly. After checking the unit, their technician called me to advise that it was only a clogged condensation line. They could have told me almost anything and I would have had no choice but to have them perform whatever they told me was the problem. I was thinking the worst, but when they told me that only $75.00 would be charged, I must admit I was somewhat shocked! To send out a trained technician in a company truck, with health, auto, comp, liability insurance, and fuel cost was incredibly fair. Their honesty and integrity has absolutely guaranteed that the next time I, or anyone else I know, have a problem with their HVAC equipment, I will call or recommend Bruno Air.

I wish I had never called Bruno Air in early January, 2015. My AC had stopped cooling after no previous problems. The technician arrived with a "salesman" who was here temporarily from Minnesota or Michigan. They said I needed a new, bigger unit. They said I also needed new duct work and showed me pictures of ducts with mold. Later, I realized the ducts could have been from another house. They convinced me to pay over $20,000 for a new system and duct work. I was leaving to go home to Nebraska the next day and needed to make a decision. The fact that they arrived later than the 3 hour window I was given made it after 7:00 pm when we were talking. It was my lucky day, they could put the new system the next day. I am sure they wanted to get it in before I could change my mind.

The "salesman" made a lot of promises when making the sale. I wish I had gotten them all in writing. It took many visits and phone calls to get the promises fulfilled.

We started having trouble with the new unit. Many visits from technicians and days without AC happened in the first year with the new AC. We were unhappy with how Bruno Air handled all this. A new technician came out almost each time. They frequently came outside the three hour window with no phone call letting us know they would be late. The latest technician would blame some of the trouble on a previous technician. Communication at Bruno is poor. One day, a technician arrived to clean the system. However, the system was not working so a repair technician was coming later in the day.

Louis B[redacted] claims to care about his customers. I wish I had kept track of every phone call I made to Bruno Air requesting to talk to the owner. He never returned my call. One time, his assistant said he was in the office but would not talk to me. When I put a negative review on Louis B[redacted]'s work Facebook page, he blocked me from commenting. We exchanged some messages via Facebook Messenger. He said he would call me, claimed to have called me but did not and then blocked me from sending more messages. Does this sound like a business owner that cares about customer satisfaction? I was also blocked from commenting on the Bruno Air Facebook page for having left a bad review.

Recently, we had a 6 month cleaning and check. The technician did come on time. He said I needed a surge protector and a rust inhibitor. I think the cost was over $800. I would not spend another penny with Bruno Air. Why wouldn't these needed items have been put in when the $20,000 plus system was put in the house??? The technician could not fix the grill that had fallen from the ceiling. I set up an appointment to have it fixed the next Monday. On the next day, a technician called and left me a message that he was at my house. I called Bruno Air. Yes, he was there. I gave them my garage code. I came home expecting it to be fixed. I got an email saying it was fixed. Bruno Air sent a different technician. He "fixed" a grill that was not broken. The following Monday, it did get fixed. Bruno Air offered to put in the surge protector and rust inhibitor at a lower price. I do not trust Bruno Air. Communication is still not good at Bruno Air.

Avoid Bruno Air.

In September of 2014, I took advantage of a $29.95 maintenance special, having the service performed, as well as signing up for an additional 12-month program. At the time of this initial service, I was informed that I would be receiving a call six months hence for the next contracted maintenance to my system.

9 months from the date of the original service, I had yet to receive such a call, and I had to take the initiative to set up the first of two previously paid maintenance services. Although I did not have any issues with my system, I felt that it would be wise to follow through with an inspection. While making the appointment, the receptionist was befuddled as to why I was not contacted after six months, but seemed eager to schedule an appointment.

We agreed upon a date of 8/1/16, acknowledging a window of 2.00 - 5.00 for the service technician to arrive. As the afternoon passed, there was no attempt made to inform me of a delay. At 6.00, I called Bruno Air and was informed that the job was listed as complete. I informed Shelley that no technician had arrived at all and I was disappointed that I had sacrificed an entire Saturday afternoon awaiting his appearance. Shelley offered two additional maintenance service visits as compensation and we rescheduled another service appointment two weeks hence.

On 8/14, I received a call from a gentleman of Bruno Air to confirm my appointment the following day. We agreed that a technician would arrive between the hours of 2.00 - 5.00 to perform the aforementioned maintenance service.

On 8/15 at 2.00, I received a call from Steve stating that he was 45 minutes away. At 3.00, Steve arrived getting to work immediately on the compressor. Approximately 30 minutes later Steve called my attention to the air handler stating that he had found no significant problems with the entire system. He kindly suggested that I invest in UV lighting to prevent mold from collecting, even suggesting that I "give it a sniff". In addition to the UV lighting, Steve also recommended I install surge protection to guard the system from the event of a power issue. On both counts I declined, much to Steve's dismay. Steve continued to work for a few minutes, reassembling the air handler and had me sign some paperwork as to the job's completion. I thanked Steve for his efforts, tipped him $10, and we parted ways.

Over the next several hours the temperature in my home rose from 75 to 81. Do recall that the system worked perfectly prior to Steve's arrival. At 6.00, I was able to contact Shelley again. We agreed that I would be the first customer on the schedule the following morning, with an expected arrival of 9.00 am.

The following morning, 8/16, I watched the hours pass from 9.00 to 10.30 when I called the business phone yet again. Although promised to be first on Sunday morning's schedule, I was informed that I was actually number two. This dispatcher, attempted to reach Sunday's service technician as to his status, but was unable to do so. Shortly after 11.00, I received a call from Ryan that he was on his way.

Upon Ryan's arrival, I explained to him the circumstances of yesterday, how all was working perfectly fine until Steve performed his maintenance service and the system was down. I stated that I had checked all the breakers that I was aware, rebooted the system, as well as confirming the maintenance breaker at the compressor was functioning. Both Ryan and I walked to the compressor and as he started his diagnosis, I noticed that there were leaves at the base of the compressor. I asked Ryan, "Isn't part of the maintenance service a clean out of the debris at the bottom?" Ryan replied, "Yes, it is. Steve has let us down here." I followed with another question to Ryan, "Last time I had service, I remember receiving a color coded checklist of items inspected and serviced. Was I supposed to receive one of those yesterday?" Ryan replied, "Yes you were."

After 20 minutes of analyzing and diagnosing, Ryan determined that a service breaker located next to the electric meter, solely devoted to the compressor, had been switched off. This was the reason the compressor was not functioning, causing the overall failure of the system. Once the breaker was reengaged, the system was restored.

I explained to Ryan, although his performance was satisfactory, I could not reward such with a gratuity. To inspect and maintain a system that was functioning perfectly well, this series of service calls developed expenditures far beyond my expectations.

I am fully aware that one can make a mistake, but when coupled with a reaction of strong disappointment when I refused additional options, it leaves me to question the integrity of service. This performance, coupled with the lack of organization in office management of scheduling appointments and drawing closure to a service call that had never taken place, has left me with great dissatisfaction.

Do not fall for their radio show special scam. They really don't do much of anything that does need in any kind of deep cleaning. They put together a detailed invoice and tell you how much it's going to cost. Very little they promise to clean is actually cleaned without a surcharge. Then they will give you an estimate of all the things that need to be done on your air conditioning. I went to three other places and the cost was less than one-third of what Bruno said it would cost. They also padded things that did not need to be done or were duplicate of what they said they were going to do. Stay away from these frauds. You can find better service and better prices almost anywhere ....beware!

I am thoroughly impressed with the professionalism that Marshall S. and Brandon M. conveyed during my service meeting with them today. My frustration led me to leave my previous service contract as I have lost confidence in [redacted]'s ability to fulfill quality service and lucky led me to this company. Marshall explained the costly repairs I had to make in detail and honestly for the first time made me feel like I wasn't just being sold something. Marshall and Brandon empathized with me over my previous frustration with the other A/C company and gave me the confidence that this repair and the work they suggested will remedy the situation. I can't thank them enough for their honest explanation of what is going on and in lay man's terms so I can really understand what needs to be done. I look forward to investing more money in a business that treats its customers as good as this. I already have confidence in the service technicians that actually do the work because they are under the same management and values!

During a routine service/inspection of my A/C unit I was informed there was additional servicing that needed to be done and that it would be roughly $1500. I authorized the work but when I got the invoice I was shocked this was a $2000 cleaning but I saved $500 so it was only $1460. Are you kidding me? No parts or freon were used. When I protested, Bruno knocked $314 off the bill but that took numerous phone calls and emails to achieve.

I called for the New Precision Tune-up for 29.95. They came out and serviced my A/C. I also signed up for their Maintenance Agreement for 119.95. Well two months later I started getting water in my house I could not believe it was the A/C since I just had it serviced two months ago. But after a lot of cost and troubleshooting it turns out it was the A/C. So I called Bruno Air to get a refund. All I get is someone will call you back which they never do. The worst customer service ever. I hope you never have a problem with Bruno Air!
