Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. Reviews (23)

I have a handicapped daughter. I had trouble getting her into the car so I looked to a Bruno seat as a remedy. Firstly I had to sell my Honda because it would not accommodate a seat. Then I had to try to find out from Bruno which vehicles would accommodate a seat. This was a lengthy process as you have to suggest a vehicle, then they will say yes or no. I had to buy a used car as the seat would not be accommodated in the same model new car. Then the seat was $4,000. Within one year the seat stopped working. Bruno sent a new mother board...I was charged $200 for it's installation. Then the seat malfunctioned again at 1 1/2 years. The authorized technicians say it's "bump stopping" and probably needs a new rail? are you kidding me? This has been a $10,000+ nightmare (cost of car switch + $4,000 seat). I would not recommend their product or customer service if you can reach them

REF: Curbmaster VSL-6000 S/N [redacted]

installed on 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Quickie Power Wheelchair w/tilt and lift

Att: Customer Service

I have recently purchased a Bruno Curbmaster Lift from [redacted] in [redacted] and I have a problem with the straps (black) supplied with the unit.

The straps (black) are very difficult to adjust when attached with the (red) straps supplied with the unit. The wheelchair also comes in contact with the top of my van on entry. I am not at all confidendant that [redacted] here in [redacted] did a proper install of the unit or accept the fact that its the best they can do.

I would like to have the unit inspected by another authorized Bruno Dealer. I will gladly pay for any modifications that may be required to fix this problem but feel that I should not have too. I also have a safety concern with the straps (red) and how they are looped around the base of the wheelchair. Can you provide me with the name, address and telephone number of an authorized Bruno Dealer here in [redacted] as this unit is unacceptable in its present state.Desired Settlement: Modify Curbmaster Lift straps so they work. Video from Bruno Independent Living claims how easy it is too lift wheelchair for entry into a van. Requires two people to adjust straps and maneuver wheelchair into van without hitting van ceiling. Something is not right, possibly poor installation by your authorized dealer ?

Review: Have difficulty going up and down stairs, resulting me in purchasing this device in May 2009. Chairlift worked fairly well with some repairs until Sept. 5 or 6, 2013. Called the tech which I adore stating my chair had stopped running, and was not able to restart. Arrived in a timely matter, examined and found the batteries and circuit board were bad. Batteries replaced that day and returned in approx 4 days to replace board. 2 and 1/2 weeks later chair stopped again, same thing replaced board , battery and charger. On today 10/12/2013, rode chair from bottom to top of stairs and smelled burning electrical wires.

Immediately unplugged and called tech. (approx 0746) No response as of 1039 today. Total cost thus far has been approx $1600.00 which is unheard of and on fixed income. Have spoken to the rep for [redacted] (dealer), [redacted] at Bruno and [redacted] rep of Bruno, which I left my last msg on Friday 10/11/2013. My concern for most, is I have requested a replacement chair with warranty due to the problems written and have gotten no where. Need new replacement chair with return of 50-60 percent of moneys spent, due to inconveniences and medical issues brought forth due to a defective product.Desired Settlement: Requesting a new chair and return of a portion of moneys spent for repairs in a 30 day period. Updated warranties to reflect new item

*. [redacted]

Dear

Mrs. [redacted]:

Bruno

has reviewed the issue with your Stairlift and found the warranty for this unit

is 2 years for these parts. The factory build date of this unit was February of

2009. The units warranty was through February of 2011. This issue started in

September of 2013 according to your letter.

We

at Bruno are very customer oriented and continue to grow because we satisfy our

customers. We are willing to replace your complete carriage unit as a goodwill

offering. This will get you working again at our cost.

Thanks

for your patience during the review period.

Sincerely,

Bruno

RE: Claim [redacted] – Bruno SRE-2010 Stairlift serial # [redacted]

Dear Mrs. [redacted]:

This offer is a good will because the parts in question were out of the manufacture warranty period in February of 2011. This means we will give you this complete carriage no cost to you and the motor in this unit will continue to be covered by the 5 year original warranty.

The dealer will be receiving the parts this week and you can work through them for an install date.

There will be no refund for the part or service you paid for outside of the original warranty.

Thanks for your patience during the review period.

Sincerely,

I would like to extend my gratitude in helping to resolve this problem in a lengthy but timely manner. Being without my chair has been difficult due to increased pain and discomfort.

My life has returned with a feeling of security.

Chair was installed to day 10/25/2013, and at this time appears to be working well.

Will be asking Revdex.com to close case with resolution to problem.

5 yr. warranty.
