Response: This is in response to the complaint made by my former tenant Mrs. [redacted], who is stating that she should not be charged for the extensive cleaning of the carpet that had to be done once they moved out of the home located on [redacted]. The former tenant did pay a...
$300.00 nonrefundable fee for the 3 pets (Hound Mix 60 lb., Mutt Mix 35 lb. both to be housed outside) (Cocker Poo 13 lb. to be housed indoor) The pet deposit is used for the cleaning of the carpet and damages that might be done to the property by the pet during the lease. Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] both promised ONLY the 13 lb. dog would be housed indoors and the other two outside but that did not happen. We had the carpet cleaned normally after the tenant vacated the unit but it did not remove the pet odor that lingered. We had the carpet re-cleaned using a deep odor remover and that still did not work the new tenant visited my office three times complaining of the smell of pet odor in the home. The carpet and padding had to be removed from the home and a replacement floor was installed running me a total bill of $675.00 (Six Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars) I only recouped $250.00 (Two Hundred Fifty Dollars) from the [redacted] family leaving me with a balance of $425 (Four Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars). If anyone is disputing the amount deducted it should be my company because I took a loss allowing those pets to even be housed on the property. [redacted] is a fair company, striving to keep all tenants and owners happy through the duration of our relationship. To settle this case I am requesting the [redacted]'s remit a payment by check or money order in the amount of $425.00 (Four Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars) to my office located at [redacted] [redacted].
