I never said that Mr [redacted] couldn't prep the driveway himself I simply said that I would do it because it is always included in the price and I prefer to have it after and cleaned my way. paid special attention to a small 3'x3' area in front of his main door which had moss. I personally scrubbed that section to rid as much of it as possible prior to sealing. I am contracted to seal and crack fill the driveway, it is impossible to rid the driveway completely of moss without bleaching, which is another entire process that I am not contracted to do.I never agreed to put hot crack filler along the foundation or the edge of the concrete. I am often asked to do this by customers and never agree to it because it is not designed to be used in this manner. The hot crack filler is designed for filling cracks in asphalt, not gaps in between asphalt and concrete. It will 1)make a mess 2)will not fill because it is in a liquid state and will run out the edges of the gap and 3)is not designed to adhere to concrete. Mr. [redacted] called after the job was completed and complained about this gap not being filled. To attempt to satisfy my customer (which I take very seriously), I personally drove out to his house and used a thicker product for patching that was more appropriate for his circumstance. Two days following this Mr [redacted] then asked when I was going to finish "this abortion" (his neighbor asked for an estimate because they thought the job looked great) and I replied I was done.I will agree to settling on $400 even. However I have not once in my 5 years in business been accused of over charging without first consulting the customer and I didn't start this time.there is nothing further I can do without risking making a mess and likely further displeasing Mr [redacted]. I will agree on the $400 even though I did not have that written in my estimates and have never once been accused of changing price on a customer without nothing notice in my 5 years in business.
